I thought with all of this talk about what and were we need new players then i would start a poll which is 100% garenteed to settle all argument -

i think we need (this season) to get players in these positions -

    LB - replace Enrique?
    CM - replace Barton?
RW - we have lots of LW but no out and out RW
ST - we NEED at least 1 more, mabe 2.

Barton and Enrique are meant to be staying.

I dont see how a poll will 'guarentee to settle all argument'. It will just show which most people agree with.

If nobody votes CB, I could still argue that a CB is needed as Willo isnt good enough at this level and Kadar is untested.

But anyway... Yeah, a RM, a player who can cover both fullback spots and a striker or two. <ok>

    in order of importance IMO:

RW - Charlie boy of course
ST - that Papiss Demba Cisse guy
LB - not a clue, that Cheick guy?*
CM - I'd say Cabaye is of the Barton mould, but Matudi*

since we're playing 451 next season (supposedly) we'd only need one striker.

    I've gone for;

LB - even if we keep Enrique we still need backup. I think Fergie is really a LW. Assuming Naylor is still a target so this may happen.
RB - Simmo for me is now the weak link in our first 11. Would ideally like to see him have some first team competition from a new signing.
ST x2 - The quality first teamer we need to accompany Ba and third choice assuming we are still intending to sell Best (which we shouldn't do IMO)

RW would also be nice but I really can't see us getting four let alone five more players in and Marveaux and Guti can play RW and Barton, Gosling and Raylor RM so not as high a priority for me.

He was found to be able to play that role quite well last season but he is still a CM, we should be looking for a natural right sided midfielder

He is. Pardew recently said in an interview he will be playing there again next year. We need to focus on CF's more. It'd just be nice to have a proper right winger. <ok>

Barton, Raylor, Gosling, Gutierrez and Ben Arfa can all play on the right, so IMO we dont need a RM.

Just a pacy striker and someone who can cover right and left back.

Like many, I think the forwards are the priority.

I wonder if Nolan Roux is a possibility. He fits in with what the board seem to like - French, young, and if what I've heard is true has a release clause of £6.25m. 21 goals in 53 games for his current club, which isn't an outstanding record, but pretty good.

Only downside is that he's got a dodgy haircut.

RB - Not a necessity but would like better quality than Simmo.
LB - Cover for Enrique, plus a replacement if he goes.
RW - There is only Jonas who can play naturally there.
ST - Hopefully one big player. Possibly two if Shola/Loven/Best go.

Yep, totally agree and was going to say something along identical lines.
Simpson doesn't offer any reassuring defense and backs off way too easily.

Not counting any new signings, the current strikers we have and likely will still
have come September are hopeless although Lover does try and Best showed
    some potential but how Shola is still peddling his wares is beyond comprehension;
he's totally crap of Perch proportions. The young squad players aiming to break
into the first team could be good but aren't something to pin any hopes onto
    immediately.

    1 right back... Sébastien Corchia
    1 defensive midfielder... Blaise Matuidi
    1 central defender... Vincent Sasso
    1 winger... Marc Albrighton
    1 second striker... Marvin Martin

as you see I really bought into the french revolution <whistle>

cb is one of my concerns we need someone of a better class than taylor and willo to partner colo to progress and move up the league
    also
    RB
    RW
    FWD x 2
LB and CM only if we lose joey or jose or both
