Next year unless there are huge **** ups in the hierarchy's decision making (which is entirely possible to be fair).

I cant see us bouncing straight back up. I really cant.

Sad times for the City and all of the Clubs loyal fans. Ashley and Co strike again.

Sunderland should be stripped of all the points they accumulated whilst Adam Noncing was on the pitch!

I think, as usual, not much will actually happen at first.

There'll be the 'ummmm'ing and ahhhh'ing' whilst holidays take place, with Charnley sat on his heels awaiting Rafa's decision. Then if/when Rafa comes to his senses and takes the Juventus job, Charnley will probably be on holiday. When he gets back in early August he'll ask "so, what's Rafa's decision?", then be told the news, at which point the "hunt" for a new manager will commence. We may, or may not, get a new guy in charge by October, with the "football board" having taken all the transfer decisions in the meantime.

There is no point being in the PL with these lot in charge. Financially yes but as a fan its pointless. I just find it hard to care tbh. Words of perhaps Bruce if Rafa leaves? Christ - just the thought of it makes me want to vomit my pelvic bone up in hatred.

Looking forward to next season. Some new teams to play. More games. No Premier League Sky bullshit. Going to more games I reckon as fewer on TV. Actually having a chance of winning games on a regular basis. I was gutted the last time we went down but I just don't feel that bad about it at all this time.

My only worry is quite how much worse Charnley & Ashley can make it. I think we're clouded because of the money spent (badly) and the appointment of Rafa (too late). It gave us the impression they were trying harder.

If Rafa is convinced to stay, then that will genuinely make me excited for next year. If he goes, we're into a lottery and anything could happen. I mean, what if we lost Rafa and brought in, I dunno, Curbishley? Or Bruce? Or some other excruciating bottom-feeder?

Guys take it from a Hammer, the Championship isn't all doom and gloom. You actually get to do something new for a season or two, you get to look forward to competing for the league title or getting among the play-off places (no better way to get promoted). So, sure you're gone for now but like us you get the chance to completely gut the club out, clear all the dead wood and slowly you can bounce back stronger.

Newcastle will be back, you're too big to stay in the Championship forever BUT don't get your hopes up for an immediate return..

Seems like thin gruel but I agree with the above. As you know the Championship is a very decent, enjoyable and tough competition - remember you guys did very well last time. Hopefully you'll swap with those odious Mackems next season. <ok>

I totally agree, sir. Not just you guys, look at Southampton and - of course - Leicester City!!!

We need this, but there's other things we need at board level we're not sure will happen. All eyes on the owner now.

Be warned though, the Championship is a brutal league, you're gonna need some real fighters and steel in your team to get through, forget ALL and any aspects of "pretty/slick" football, teams will kick lumps out of your players, park the bus... it is grueling stuff.

I remember when Ashley took over. Billionnaire. NUFC was supposed to be the next Chelsea or Man City. Instead it has been crisis after crisis, two relegations, lost count of how many managers, not a single Shearer-grade player signed, one respectable season of finishing 5th. Literally the best thing he has done in all his time as owner is appoint Benitez a few weeks before a relegation, the first proper manager since Bobby Robson. That's his top achievement after a decade. That fat **** is the root of all evil and I can't see anything improving long term unless he's out. SJP should be empty for every match until that happens.
