Great goal and it could easily have been 3-4 zip.

I thought we looked good and as Potts says could easily have been 4-0 up. As the game drew on we looked nervous and could have conceeded. Good result and reasonable performance but we need far more conviction going forward if we are to convert the chances we are creating.

    However, Huth needs to play!

What comments do you have about the match officials ? Please , no expletives .

I think they had blue and green vests under their yellow tops.

My opinion was that as a team the three of them had a nightmare. The linesman made several poor decesions on throwins and either giving freekicks or not doing so and the referee was very inconsistent. How their right back did not get a yellow for the number of times he brought down Moses I do not know! Howver he booked Whelan I think on the totting up process but when he booked him, Whelan won the ball quite fairly!

Pawson (the ref) also missed the penalty when Moses was brought down. I understand on Sky they said it was a certain penalty !

Toatl lack of communcation between Ref, two linesman, and 4th official, who was so officious with the incident involving Arnie and pulling him off the pitch to get some tieups!

So in 3 words poor, poor, poor!!!!!!!!!!!!

We deserved the win though we nearly blew it when Newcastle hit the bar late on. We needed another goal and certainly should have had a penalty when Moses was brought down, and Arnie was unlucky when he hit the post in the second-half. We played the ball around well but still tended to move sideways and backwards at times. I was impressed with Diouf until he went off injured and Moses caused them problems with his pace. The officials were crap tbh and the ref definitely lived up to his name.... "you were poor son"

I have not spoken to Mrs Pawson , but of everyone I have spoken to not one had a single positive word for the ref. and his assistants were just as bad. I counted 3 good chances of scoring , of which we managed one , then there should have been one possibly two penalties.
We must become sharper in front of goal because we won't get that many chances in every game.

But what a cracking goal it was !

The Ref? It's his first season at top level, but he was pathetic. The Lino to my left has never been to specsavers in his life.

    Nick

No magic bus but it was a happy car home. Just a bloody nuisance when I dropped off two by Heathrow on M25 I join M3 and they closed the exiot to the M3. So I only got home at 1:30am!!!! I was not happy with lack of notice as I could have got off a junction earlier!
