He plays the averages doesn't he .......... for every Perez there's a Riviére.

Most of what I've seen are already well known internationals looking for an 'in' to the PL.

We won't beat QPR, Leicester or you. West Brom....we always struggle against them.

We are shocking. The worst side I have seen us put out in a long time. Even our relegated side were better than the current lot.

Has he really found a gem? An example? And I don't mean a young established french international who every kid with fifa football knows exists.

Ashley's not daft, it'd be suicide to not invest in new players, but he will only invest what you can make in player sales as per usual. Sissoko could go for £15m although he's been quiet of late. Perez I'd take a punt on for £12-15m and put him in the hands of a good manager and coaching set up, that could pay dividends, he'll rot under your bin man coach. Krul probably £10m and Janmaat again £10-12m.

Assuming you sell them all at that price, I'd say Ashley would be happy to spend half of that on new recruits, with the other half covering their wages for the duration of their contracts.

That other young kid is the one who Ashley will be excited about the lad who scored against City in the cup, get him tied down to a long term contract and Ashley could have another truckload of money coming his way.

Spot on about Carr, as far as I can see he's discovered one very good player (Perez) that I personally had never heard of.

Well, anyone that points to Cabaye can forget that one since he was known before we signed him. Perez is probably the one gem that he has found. Largely though 'his' signings have been pants. Haidara, Amalfitano, Riviere are/were awful.

The next games are important imo.

If Newcastle take another beating off Arsenal and we scrounge summat at West Ham the momentum will be ours.

The other way round and I'd worry more.

The one thing we'll have, that we didn't have with Poyet, is the will of the crowd.

If DA can't outwit Carver we'll know we're in massive bother.

Abeid has potential and Rolando Arrons if he stays fit can be another quality player. But aside from those two and Perez, the quality of signings have been poor from him. I don't get the hype. He has contacts in the game I get that. But surely there are players in our game at grass roots level that would offer a lot more than some of the crap we sign up. That works for the PL clubs in general.

First season for Perez though, you can say promising find at this stage but gem is premature imo. Difficult second season to come. The season everyone expects a player to step up and deliver more. Impove and I'd say you've got a gem on your hands.

Suppose it's what people see a gem as. But yeah, I think Carr is over rated. Enjoyied a lot of paid hollidays in france to sign up established players. He's not as bad Pop Robson though.

That kid is raw class mate, technically one of the best young players in this league, his close control is superb and he finishes instinctively, the stuff you can't teach.

The problem he'll face is being taught by the chumps who claim to be coaches at Newcastle.

You can see from his movement he's one step ahead of the **** surrounding him, maybe with the exception of Cabella.

Watched the Mags play loads this season fella. I know he's a talented. But I've seen a lot of talent fall by the way side. Which is why I'm not so keen to declare him a gem in his first season, you've mentioned a factor as in the Chumps who are developing him. Add the fans irritation with the Charver and the teams general lack of confidence, if he doesn't have the right character these things will effect him. He didn't look out flash the last time I saw him, massive contrast from the time before, none of them did, they look stuck in a rut together. I'll hold of calling him a gem until I see if the the football club known as Newcastle United chew up his career and spit it out.

Yeah, they'll not hold him back though, bigger clubs will see that potential he's already being talked up now. He'll be prized from that fat bastard's hands by a much bigger club at some point very soon I'd imagine. I'd give him one season more there at max.

There was rumours the big Spanish clubs were in for him as well, it's obvious why. The kid is absolutely outstanding and I reckon in a team like Southampton or Spurs, he'd be getting as much attention as Ward-Prowse and Kane are.

As a realistic target (I wouldn't count Kane as realistic for us right now) I'd have Perez right up there with Wanyama if I had to pick a youngster from this league that I'd like Van Gaal to go in for.

He moves like Hernandez but he's got the control to go with it, that fat dumpling will ruin him though or at least stunt his development, the kid probably learned more off his grandpa kicking a ball around in the garden than that idiot.
