Gareth Southgate, Stephen Fry and Olympians lead New Year Honours list and in the bottom of the Barrel are the dregs...........

Keely Hodgkinson is among several athletes to be recognised for their medal-winning efforts this summer.
Kitesurfer Ellie Aldridge and heptathlete Katarina Johnson-Thompson are also appointed MBEs, while cyclist Tom Pidcock and rower Helen Glover become OBEs.
Swimmer Duncan Scott is appointed an OBE after becoming Scotland's most decorated Olympian with eight medals, including two in Paris.

Paralympic swimmers Tully Kearney and Alice Tai also become OBEs, along with rower Erin Kennedy and cyclist Jaco van Gass.

Hannah Cockroft is appointed a CBE after winning a gold medal in each of the last four Paralympic Games.

Penny Briscoe, the chef de mission for Paralympics GB, is also appointed a CBE.

Dozens of well earned and meaningful awards right down to the undeserving dregs
And poor old Charlie 3 DOESNT GET A SAY SO!

    Rewarding failure
Starmer is already a ‘sir’ and he’s certainly a full on failure in every respect

Genuine question; why is SK so horrible?
Ok he’s Labour - and he’s increased the ULEZ zone, but what else has he done to deserve such vitriol?
Re: the ULEZ; I hate it as much as anyone, but would a Tory mayor scrap it? You’re having a laugh. Of course not. It earns MONEY!!!!

He seems to only appeal to ethnic minorities
Knife crime and murders are through the roof under his tenure
That alone should be enough to stop him getting any sort of recognition, ever

He’s woke and Labour through and through. The Labour run councils in this country are absolutely useless as are the main Labour government

He’s also anti British and is a racist who seems to dislike white people

you often must miss bits of reported news on tv media etc ... the Ulez zone expansion had no need other than to enrich the coffers via the extra charges! And its effect was minimal.
as above most things that stand out been mentioned. Has done the same sort of thing Marv did in Bristol when he first got elected and his support was from the ethnic minorities ..not to sure but think turnouts for him were less than 30% might even been 20% more people voted to kick him the job of mayor than voted for him.
note the congestion zone was increased and then returned to its old boundaries as it was a temporary cash cow.............

The London charge zone is one of the largest congestion charge zones in the world, despite the removal of the Western Extension which operated between February 2007 and January 2011. The charge not only helps to reduce high traffic flow in the city streets, but also reduces air and noise pollution in the central London area and raises investment funds for London's transport system.

The standard charge is £15, Monday–Friday from 7:00am to 6:00pm, and 12:00noon to 6:00pm on Saturday and Sunday (and Bank Holidays),

from memory weekends and bank holidays were free

I watch quite a lot of news JGF, and I’m aware that some sections of the media (the Mail, the Express, the Sun, the Telegraph - the right wing press) don’t like him - but I tend to ignore that for the same reason that I ignore the Mirror, the Guardian and BBCs hatred of Farage.

I also acknowledge and share the hatred of ULEZ, but over and above that I don’t see him as being a particularly bad person.

I must disagree to to point with respect to your phraseology!
Boris was a good mayor of London .. very good. he was also a very good PM ... FAR FAR BETTER THAN the current one and especially the [ over all ] Bliar.. but he had faults like Naievety to bend the truth in a time of stress and major concern for all those in charge during the epidemic .... Any job in parliament for the government would have been difficult. There are millions of people out there that did similar things on my estate I witnessed at least a dozen or more residences that flouted the rules weekly they were breaking up Raves ... 1000's were fined for misdemeanours like celebrating an event ...glass houses and stones .....even Granny Harmer had an investigation in a labour controlled zone for an office party that took month's to resolve and was "unproven" ...............
lets be fair and judge things in context ....

note ...........I think Boris let himself down, he should have come clean, but as Captain Hindsight WAS famous for !! in hindsight now we see that the present PM and his cohorts are FAR FAR worse than Boris ever was, and History is recording that.

Boris Johnson has a particular type of personality (there is a name for it but I can’t remember it) whereby he has an overbearing sense of entitlement and an irrational belief in his own thoughts. His schoolteachers found him exasperating because he would not learn from his mistake - he just couldn’t accept that he’d made any.
Before becoming PM he used to write articles for the Daily Telegraph - including one article in particular which was strongly arguing why we should remain in the EU.
He was ultimately sacked from that job for lying (not about the Remain article, but something else I believe).
Boris Johnson saw an opportunity to bash his old rival, Cameron and grab power for himself - and in order to do that he switched allegiance to being the Brexit champion in the Tory party. He knew that Farage’s UKIP would never win on its own - he exploited the divisions within the Conservative party and employed Mr Cummings to work his spin - which included the £millions more for the NHs rubbish.
Boris Johnson was overflowing with charisma and was a huge personality on a political stage devoid of personalities.
In the end however it was Mr Johnson’s own self righteousness that would lead to his downfall. He really genuinely felt accountable to nobody but himself and ‘rules’ were for ‘ordinary people’ and didn’t apply to Boris Johnson.
His election success is a stark reminder to us all how people can be seduced into voting for charisma, personality and catchy logos, whilst overlooking the real issues of the economy, social issues and security.

Keir Starmer is the opposite of Boris, dull in the extreme and zero charisma yet show 'how people' can vote the other way as well.
He's overlooked pensioners in favour of Mick Lynch's lot which says everything about the misguided fool.
It might take a while but his paymasters will bring him down.
Wes and Angela are biding their time whilst letting him hang himself.

definetly not guilty of those 3 things nor expanding the economy increasing hospitals and the police and nurses ........... OH and that was also inside his year in office .. cruelly curtailed by Covid ...

IN 2010 RED Ken cooked up the biggest lie ever to haunt "London" as mayor for 3 years ... you obviously know what that was .. but is the current 2 heads of London / Country lies/ actions WORSE?

if anything happens with Granny Harmer then ANGELA RULES BY DEFAULT ... another default victory

we should have a voting system like the london mayor elections but not so complicated you vote for the choice and also a second choice ... if you dont win by getting 50% of the vote the second choices are brought in to play ... in the last mayoral election I think the green candicate got over 30% of the second choice votes
