Evening all This is all very new to me so be gentle Used to follow Wycombe home and away many years ago and now and then pop down to see the Blues Going to be there for the Aldershot game as my sons team is receiving fairplay award. How is the team actually playing at the moment
evening oxo welcome to not 606.the blues are doing well and playing some good football, having watched the blues home and away i can say we deserve to be where we are after some very good performances.a lot of new players and now they have settled in we are looking a major force in this division, although i do admit nikki bull in goal has saved us on many occasions this season and is probably our player of the season so far.we have struggled with injuries with jp only just coming back into the team after a lengthy lay off, sandell our left back has been very influential as well but sadly he is on the injured list for about six weeks and also our centre backs have been in and out of the side at different times through injury so to be where we are in the division is very satisfying.hopefully we will get promoted automatically but wycombe always seem to torment us supporters by doing it the hard way but i dont mind a win in the play off final at old trafford if thats what it takes ,but heres hoping we do it the easy way
Welcome Mightyoxo. Inconsistently is probably the word I'm looking for. I haven't seen them for 5 years but will be there at the Aldershot game. By all accounts they can be brilliant one week and less than brilliant another week. They did string together 7 matches without defeat (I think it was 6 wins) to take them to second place. Then lost 3 on the trot before trouncing Burton Albion on Tuesday. Currently in 2nd and looking good for auto promotion so hopefully we will witness one of their better games against Aldershot. The regulars will be able to fill you in better.
mightyoxo you might get some stick with that name on here ,it sounds like you should be a poxford united fan
Rocky Will never be an Oxford fan mate have followed Wycombe on and off since 1973/74 First game was v Peterbrough in FA cup My mum and dad both went until they passed away and brother is a season ticket holder. Have been to various glamourous away games like Trowbridge(in trophy) and Hendon (fa cup) where we got chased down the road by 30 odd angry home fans you can if you like call me Andy,Oxo is a nickname Cheers for the updates lads
stick with the name mate you will be alright we are a friendly bunch on here but we do give each other some stick but its only light hearted banter.
Sorry Rocky Did not mean to sound annoyed just stating a point I can give out friendly stick as well and i can also take it hopefully talk tomorrow after 3 points at Macc
no problem mate ,you will probably be on here giving me stick in a couple of months time but i will give it back
jenny is on form as usual, its not long now till the mighty wanderers make the trip to sheepland jenny
Ah yes, yet another game where we have home advantage against the top teams. If we can cut out the loses (& we haven't had many at home), then I'm sure our run-in will see us sitting pretty.
Can't say I'm confident about beating the Shrews on their own patch. A draw would do me fine. By then though, looking at the fixture list, we may need to beat them. I don't like the look of next Tuesday's game. 3 points today is a must I think.
