Now that we have released the players that Waddock doesn't see fit for League One, we have an understanding on the current condition of our squad. So who should we sign, and what would be a realistic target for next season? COYB!!!
Given Hayes has stated that Waddock will have the budget to buy who he wants: win the first home game win the first away game don't concede any goals in our first 3 games aim for the play-offs.
Ron, sounds good but I don't think the playoffs is a realistic expectation this season. If we get there great but I think avoid relegation is a realistic aim, the same as it is for any single other team in the whole of the football league/premier division who has just been promoted.
I Know what you mean Jock but aiming at avoiding relegation is not a very healthy target and will probably result in relegation. If we aim at play-offs it is a very positive start to the season and will influence which players are bought in (and also attract players we wish to bring in). At the end of the day I would settle for survival but I couldn't start off with that as a target.
the one thing this time around we wont be playing leeds ,norwich ,charlton etc in the first few games like we did last time ,also waddock has plenty of time to get to get his new players in unlike when taylor was here and missed all his transfer targets because of the forced take over by steve hayes.
