been reading other threads on this subject and read in the paper (sunday mirror..i know i know) that we're interested in walcott and sturridge. it also says chelsea don't want to loan and want 15 million for sturridge. 15 million! for an unproven striker just cos he's english! if we pay more than 5 million than we'll have been robbed again! also in the same paper in mentions klass-jan huntelaar is a free agent at the end of this season. i'd rather pay the 15 million in wages to huntelaar and have a class forward than give it to chelsea. i know that getting him would be next summer but i'd rather wait than blow a **** load of money on what could be another andy carroll. thoughts?
How many Walcott/Sturridge threads do we need??? Makes it worse that yoy say you've been reading it on other threads too!!!
Yep have to agree. We don’t need a new thread for this! EDIT. It might be time to start a Jan transfer thread, to keep it all in one place.
Agreed SJD but once again, I think we will end up with Walcott or Sturridge and not Llorente, Negredo, huntelaar.
We need a striker but we won't get one, not an out-and-out version anyway. Rodgers want his front man to be a lot more than just a striker or poacher. They have to be able to pass and bring others into play, they have to be prepared to go out wide and interchange with others and they have to be prepared to work hard too. That is not a description of a Fowler or Owen, it is a Tevez or Rooney. IMO, suarez is like that without the clinicalness
I've heard of an up and coming striker called Michael Owen at Stoke. Reckon we could snap him up for £40million.
The rumors on Villa and Huntelaar are picking up, but we shall see. Won't believe anything until LFC announce it.
What are these villa rumours? It can't be a permanent deal surely? He will be 31 in December and will want MEGA wages
Would love one or both but neither will happen. Wages will be too high and they are both getting on a bit.
