    Afternoon lads,

    I know we are all getting a bit fed up since our signings have dried up, Just looking through recent news articles and Pardew saying he is maintaining a search for a top class striker.

    You can call me deluded but i have a funny feeling that this will come off and come the start of the season we will be excited.

    The thing we lacked a bit was creativy and skill, I think with Ben Arfa, Cabaye and Marveaux this will help us a lot. We just need a out and out goal scorer and we can sleep a bit more easily at night.

    I think Ba wil scored around 10 but can see him picking up those niggling injuries.

    Looking forward to how the lads do against Darlington tomorrow! Cant wait for the season to start now.

    sick of saying it now but Welliton has a yr left on his contract and is available for around 7.8m and seen as we offered 7.5m for Mevlüt Erdinç i think we should bid 7.5m and i'm sure we'd get him imo he's a much better player

    It wouldn't surprise me if we get to the end of the transfer window and we sign 1/2 free transfers and then Pardew/Lamarse comes out with "we tried our best to get in the right players but now we have to focus on what we have and get on with it"

    With PSG having all this money now, it wouldn't surprise me if Erding comes out and says "i want first team football" and then becomes available in Jan or next summer.

    turn the two numbers at the end around, and you're getting closer to what they'd actually cost. Vossen is contracted till 2015, no way we'd get him for less than 10mill.

    Rondon, obviously. The best one out of that list who could suit the PL perfectly, ALTHOUGH I wouldn't mind the likes of Vossen and Welighthong!

    I am starting to doubt that there will be anyone worth getting excited about coming in. Everything said in the press by Pardew (and Llambias occasionally) has been about how there is even less than a few weeks ago despite nothing else happening. They fail to mention that Nolan's wages have gone off the wage bill and players like Routledge are being moved on too. Campbell and Kuqi have also left. They never seem to point out the money that they have saved in wages and the money that comes in from TV and just being in the Premiership. What other club puts money aside for the entire length of a player's contract? The local journalists should ask if they will have another £15.6m going spare next season because they have already sorted out Tiote's deal.

    the valuations were on a site i found and as i found other stuff which said welliton was available for figures from 7.3 to 7.9 then i thought the vossen one was accurate (soz OT if it got your hopes up)
    dig about and you'll see welliton is available for slightly less so taking vossen out of the picture welliton is very much a possibility also add in he wants out due to racism and i'd say it's doable
