Sunderland complete the signing of pacy young French forward on two-year deal
The latest addition to Sunderland’s U23s and U18s squad is promising French forward Lilyan Compper, who has joined the club on a two year deal from COS Villers.

Compper had previously been on the books of French side AS Nancy and, like his idols Thierry Henry and Kylian Mbappé, is a rapid right footed attacking player.

Is that how to spell his name (Christian and surname) ?

I hope that he's better than the last (only other) Lilian that we had (Laslandes) and the last (only other) player that we've had with an association with Nancy (Phil Gray) 'cos they were both Shoyte

p.s. might this be because of some loose connection with the Monaco hierarchy, perhaps ?

 

I'm not sure if it's because the calibre of players has improved or if it's because communication with the media has improved, or if we've finally got people in who are more proactive in signing players but whatever the weather it sounds like they're making a good go of it with the academy.

It'll be useful having someone who's a combination of Henry and Mbappe, should get a few goals in league one.

 

Sweet, without our category 1 status these acquisitions wouldn't be possible. SD has stumped up a lot of money to retain so glad we're retaining a heavy emphasis of making use of our wider pool.

 

I liked Phil Gray, not sure he should be dumped in the ****e category.

I couldn't stand him 'cos, whilst he had some talent, and scored a few beauties, he was a lazy, arrogant bastard who seemed to think that we 'owed' him a living
