It's coming along nicely and from what's built it really does looks like it's going to be a good looking stand!

Can't wait for it to be finished, it will be the pride of Bristol

It seems to be running behind according to the time scales previously given.

That Dolman supporting pillar is going to annoy the corner dwellers. Real pity that there wasn't a workaround for that.

Looks like it. Hard to think that it will be completely built in just 6 and a half months ready for use...

That pillar will be removed soon when the new south stand roof is started.

    Coming along nicely.

If they work through the night every night and at weekends perhaps they can finish it before the West Ham game... <laugh>

Is it just the camera angle of these pictures or is the roof really going to point upwards like the Atyeo ? I hope that's not the case...it will let all the noise out!

It looks like it will point slightly up, the acoustics will hopefully be better as part of the bowl like design and there not being a massive gap for the noise to escape from.

Angelicnumber16, we were told at the Dolman meeting that actually the acoustics of AG were very poor due to the stadium design, but that the architects and Barr had spent a lot of time looking at this for the new stadium, soooo hopefully they say it will be excellent when finished.

Does anyone know if there are any plans to redevelop the Atyeo? I know it's getting a make over once all the other stands are done but it will look tatty and out of place compared to the other 3 stands..

Which completely contradicted the remarks an acoustician who stated the stands of Ashton Vale should be enclosed and described the acoustics of the Eastend as brilliant.

It also contradicts fans surveys on Ashton Vale.

At the open day during the summer of 2013 the architect was asked questions regarding stand design - acoustics.. He certainly did NOT make the same point. The stands are like that due to what they incorporate e.g Community corner etc and to meet neighbouring stands.

I think there are all sorts of issues with making the Atyeo match the rest of the ground. There's the height of it due to the houses behind and I believe it's as tall as it is allowed to be.
There was a rumour that SL wanted to buy all of the houses there so that a bigger stand could be built.
