Tonight we'll have the chance to see a stadium who ticks all the right boxes when it comes to our future home.

The venue is St. Jakob Park in Basel - Basel Vs Bayern Munich.

    Here are the facts:

It was originally built with a capacity of 33,433 seats. The capacity was increased to 42,500 for Euro 2008, which was hosted by Switzerland and Austria. After the Euro 2008 a number of seats were removed, thus creating more space between them. The capacity was therefore reduced to 38,512[1] for Swiss Super League matches or 37,500 seats for international matches.
The maximum capacity for concerts is 60,000.

The stadium is divided into four main blocks, A, B, C and D, each block covering one side of the stadium, and block G, consisting of the upper balcony added later.

The stadium cost around CHF 220 million to build (US$132 million, €143 million in March 2001).

Within the stadium, there are 32 shops on three different floors, as well as two restaurants (the "Restaurant UNO" and "Hattrick Sports Bar"). The stadium has parking spaces for 680 cars on two different floors. The stadium can be reached either by bus, tram or train (the stadium has its own train station).
The stadium has been awarded 4 stars by UEFA, which is the highest number of stars that can be awarded to a stadium of that size.

What I love the most about it is that they've managed to get a three tier stand in a stadium with a capacity less than 40.000 and how close the fans are to the pitch.

Thoughts? How would YOUR dream stadium look like?

Certainly the style would be as near to Loftus Road as a new larger stadium could be. Compare that to MK Dons stadium or the Ricoh and I know what I'd rather have...

Cost £30m which is cheaper than the flat packs like Derby and Southampton but the capacity is only 28k, I think wed have to fill in the corners to get it nearer 34k or perhaps add a 3rd tier, now that would be something!

It's a great stadium for atmosphere I'll give you that Flyer <ok> But better, come on?

As I've understood we're looking for a capacity of 30.000 plus. Without the corners Boavista's under 30.000.

Don't get me wrong, they're both great and I'll bite the arm off whoever offered me any of them. But St. Jakob Park is my dream for QPR.

I like the Swiss-style grounds very much; always built with the fan in mind and typically efficient. However, the Boavista ground with a tweak if possible to get to 30k capacity would be my choice. It's extremely intimidating, and that's even when empty!

Weve heard 2 different capacities that we want, first it was 45k which your idea would be best but then it was said we were looking at 30k which my idea would be best if we were doing a straight copy.

However Id scale up boavistas to the level we want. Imagine a 45k version of that. Basels is still a bowl and Boavistas is the only new stadium Ive seen that replicates Loftus Road.

    It's a cracker, Norway.

Where would we build it? Take over White City and put it there?

Nobody wants to leave LR. THAT's the problem. We would love a new stadium, but where do we go..... we don't want to go far from the Bush, do we?

I think the thing to do is to tear down the South Africa Road stand and offices, and expand it OVER the street and make it a tunnel road underneath with the stands above it! Then you can have it be a proper 3-tier on that side and give us 10,000 more seats. Easily. I can dream, can't I?

Otherwise somebody wise should go to Wormwood Scrubs or the Christie Stadium and work something out.

There is a ground that could be for sale and could be moved brick by brick to a new site in West london.

The best stadium in Europe for true football fans is the Westfalenstadion in Dortmund, a smaller version of this would be ideal for us. Shame there's no standing, if you ever get the chance to see a game there it really is amazing. Take a look at this:
