Well we can't be in a panic about getting it ready. There has been no activity from the external cameras the whole afternoon.
The wife wanted to look up an old eritrean friend who lives in Enfield so obviously I too the opportunity to visit the Spurnabau. Wow, fekking imposing and big, jesus, I wasnt expecting that. I was also expecting a bit of open space but again wow, its almost in the fekking high road. Impressive.
Sunday morning and the stadium is a hive of activity for once. The artificial turf is just about covering the whole of the NFL pitch area, there's numerous cherry pickers on West, East and South stands fitting glazing, panels and frames for glazing and panels. The only area with no discernable work being carried out is the roof, which has been the pattern over recent weeks, with the roofers seeming to have Sundays day off. Yesterday saw a vast concrete pour on the South Stand podium in the area abutting the entrances which went on for hours. The final push is well under way although some internal areas ie the Sky Lounges and Sky Bridge thingy look as though they'll be done at a later point in time because they're little but empty shells at this point.
Was at new WHL yesterday. Will be a tough ask to have things ready by the Poool game IMHO. So much "dotting the Is and crossing the Ts" work needed on things like windows and panelling (seals etc) , let alone the stuff on the south stand that still looks like a building site.
My son works at the new stadium and the building work hopefully will be finished on time but his concerns are the electrical systems that still need installation and testing , without those they will not get the safety certs
A family member won a big contract there, so I've an extra interest but find the whole thing fascinating. It's not my usual type of thing but watching it come together has been great. I've driven Mrs B spare. She's always suspected that there's a few loose screws. This has done nothing to counter that suspicion.
