The cost of Spurs’ revamp of White Hart Lane has doubled to £800m

The estimated cost of Chelsea’s rebuild of Stamford Bridge has also doubled, to £1bn.

Come on Tony, I’m sure we can out spend these minnows.

We could easily spend over a billion on LR to bring it up to championship standard.

We didn't fill Loftus Rd for every game in the Premier League, I think our average last time we were up was 16,000ish and currently is 13,000ish. If we had a 25,000 seater it would be half empty once the novelty wore off. As Goldcoast says we won't be going anywhere soon...

Trouble is, if you look at it long term, if we really have ambition to move up and become a bigger club, then an extra couple of thousand seats just doesn't cut it. It doesn't seem worth moving to a slightly bigger stadium. At the same time, moving to a 40/50,000 stadium now is too early. As others have said we'd end up with an embarrassingly half-empty stadium. At some point though we'll need to take the leap and move or we'll never move on.

This may sound ridiculous, but is there any way we could build a 25, 000 capacity stadium with the option to expand at a later date?

    There are 2 options
    1. Build a stadium like MK Dons which has an option to build a 3rd tier
    2. Build a stadium like we have now ensuring there is a large grassed area in the middle for the pitch. If we ever get Rednapp back as manager we can just put extra seating on the grass to cover the increased overheads
