People were lamenting the lack of new songs on here now I don't listen to most of the current drivel that passes for music nowadays, there are a few good ones but way out weighed by the dross, so thought I'd change the words of an old football song Que sera sera. When I was just a little boy Iasked my mother what would life be Will my team be successfull year after year heres what she said to me. 'Don't be stupid son Whatever will be will be But you follow the Gas my son You'd have more chance at city. Now don't just slag off my poor attempts, come on you lot have a go yourselves
Heeeeeeeeeey, Hey Ya Davies Oh Ah I wanna know-o-o-o-o How you scored that goal Repeat Na Na Na Na, Na Na Na Na, Heyyyyy Baldock I've targeted the strikers because there is no decent songs bar steads. Davies and Baldock have got Maynards old chant. Vert very lazy from the EE
Albs got to many songs His hearbeat one is good enough for him though. Davies needs to be appreciated more. Top player so he needs a top song
At the moment city fan culture seems to be out on its knees going the way of everywhere else v at one point going the way of only BCFC and being very original. Nearly every chant now is copied off the big guns of the EPL and soccer am. small time!! Tune of Bristol cider song/popeye the sailor man Slow not fast Sun shines on the apples and cider goes into me we're bristol city it makes us go giddy lets drink till we fall to our knees.
That was sung years back mate but something like When I was just a little boy I asked my mother what will I be Will I be Rovers am I Cardiff Heres what she said to me Wash your mouth out Son And get your Fathers gun Shoot the Rovers scum Shoot the Rovers scum Wash your mouth out Son And get your Fathers gun Shoot the Rovers scum Shoot the Rovers scum
I thought it was 'Am I a gashead or am I City' I didn't hear it often but didn't it come out just before Dunblaine or Hungerford something like that and the fans stopped singing songs that refered to guns almost overnight?
Its a case of a section generally kids lacking imagination and not carrying on what used to happen. Now its "Stead will .." copy off MUFC, "Abert Adomah runs .." copy off the Kop and on the repitition goes.
Christ, I can still remember standing in the Eastend as a kid and everybody around me singing ' Atyeo for ENGLAND ' I used to stand looking in amazement, singing and thinking, "What's all that about".....
Doubt if things will ever get as strange as when the Sub Crew used to turn up waving yellow marigolds, or one game wearing Santa Masks in august singing "Santa Aggro, Santa Aggro, HO HO, HO HO".
I can remember a kid on the East End singing Atyeo for England and back in the late 50's he was certainly good enough it was his loyalty to Bristol City that cost him many more international caps.
Im in the EE and do join in when they do sing it, Just to recognise the player, Would rather have something good for them though (them being davies and baldock) Every song will be a mimic from somewhere else. Just picking the best ones.
Even the nature of that has changed. Years back you had to earn it, and we meant earn it, run through walls with a broken leg might impress ... Now be here for half an hour and fans clap like seals and sing a ditty. Every song wasn't from everywhere else. There once were chants from Bath punk bands who supported City, but never released records. Ideas that didn't kick off elsewhere, love them, not get them etc the YSC were highly original.
Got to admit the YSC hasn't shaken the cobwebs out so far I thought that stood for Young Stupid Conservatives
