Am I the only one who is starting to get extremly nervous about our lack of signings? Ok I know we can point to Greening Reid and Boatang, and I certainly think Greening and Reid were good signings. But we have lost NINE players and replaced them with three. Up until recently we had the 2nd smallest squad in the division, surely Doughty isn't serious about promotion with such a small squad. I know we have still got some quality players in the squad and its not like i'm worried about being relegated but how can we make an assault on a top 6 finnish with such a thread bare squad?

Good afternoon Tricky, Don't think you've got relegation to worry about but like you i'd be a tad concerned by the apparent apathy of your board in refreshing the squad for a good push this year, of course could be that they think the auto places are already sorted and are waiting until next year when the division may be easier to get out of with the likes of Norwich and Swansea maybe dropping back down.
Bit different for us with all the comings and goings it's gonna be suck it and see scenario

9 out 3 in is a bit worrying, perhaps he'll play some of the youngsters, perhaps we'll get a few loans in, who knows at the moment. Looking forward to the season though.

I agree with you sussex that its going to be the hardest championship season in a long while, there are some serious heavy weights in there this year. As for the youth academy Del don't think thats been properly run for years would be very surprised if we got anything out of it this year. Anyway at leasts the footys back and saturday afternoons have a point again

i think that Nottingham Forest have got two major problems Nigel Doughtys got no more money to put into the team, the second one is Steve McClaren cant attract decent players to the club I do hope I'm wrong!

At the end of the day if were serious about promotion we should be tearing teams like Barnsley apart (no disrespect to them) , that game was, in theory, one of the easisest games were likely to have all season. I would also love to know how were going to score goals with no ****ing strikers. Earnshaw is gone, Dex is out injured (I hope he comes back soon) and even tyson who couldn't hit water in a boat added something to the squad. So who are we left with? McGoaldrought and Garner, fantastic

I too am worried but hopefully some good news on the horizon in the form of Verhoek & Miller? Also, to be fair, Barnsley aren't a bad side and an opening day point against a team who often give us trouble might not be so bad at the end of the season.
