New signings?

Apparently we're signing lewis montrose and neil letheridge from other posts on this forum so those could be them? I'm hoping he's talking about a striker or two though personally!
 
I note from the Kent News article that ""When our signings are released to the Press I’m sure there will be a few raised eyebrows and it will set us up for the coming season." this statement can work both ways. If we sign decent players, then wow. But also, if we were to sign a couple of duff players, then eyebrows would also be raised! Now that Hess is on holiday it is good to see that Hendon has spoken up, I am sure as a result of the fans' concern about the lack of any news coming out of Priestfield. Also, it is good to see that the Club have not given up hope on the players who are out of contract re-signing before the start of the season. I do hope that the signings will raise eyebrows in the positive sense, but watch this space

I wouldn't have thought it would be "raised eyebrows" if we signed duff players... we've certainly signed a few over the last 5 or so years. I have a feeling that it may be Lee and Whelpdale.
 
Although it may be very unlikely, maybe we managed to lure Clayton Donaldson? If not, then maybe Anyinsah or Kyel reid? Those two would certainly raise eyebrows!
 
I think you are being pessimistic, although our wage budget is low, it always has been. We paid ridiculous money for Akinfenwa and Mark Mccammon was supposed to be one of our highest earners haha. I think we can lure good players on a decent wage and certainly have more funds than the majority of league two except the likes of Northampton, Crawley and perhaps Bradford.
 
Maybe I'm just overreacting to Bayo's departure, which was a very bad sign. Preferring to go back to 4th-from-bottom Cobblers, over accepting our wage offer.
 
think we down on wages but only that we wont be able to replace each of those 9 odd players we've lost. so we should still have the buget to pay the larger wages but we can't afford to sign 5 or 6 players to high wages maybe only 1 or 2 then the rest will have to be signed to lower packages. personally i think promotion incentives would be a good idea, some footballers think with their wallet and this may spur them on to put that last little bit of effort in
 
You are quite right in what you say. Our problem is that if we secure a player which is usually on a short term contract, then come the end of the season if a player (like Cody, who, I know was on loan) does very well then he is going to go if we cannot match his wage demands and who can blame him? The same will apply,even if we do well. Hopefully, with a successful run, the crowds will come back in numbers which will mean that we can, in the future secure the services of the right player on a decent length contract. What comes first, a successful club or a decent sized crowd?
 
This is just speculation, dont read anything into this haha but! Could there be a chance that the eye brow raiser is Cody Mcdonald??? There isnt any definitive news on where he is going... I myself dont think this will happen just thought I'd create some gossip haha
 
To me it looks like Frampton would be a good signing - Millwall's player of the season not too long ago. Just hope he hasn't gone spectacularly off the boil since then (like certain central defenders have since 2009...)
