Blackpool-born Tanner joined Manchester United as a youngster before earning a place on their scholarship programme. He went on to sign his first professional contract with the Red Devils in January 2018. He enjoyed a fruitful loan spell with Morecambe through the first half of the 2019/20 campaign where he made a total of 29 appearances in all competitions. George made 42 appearances during his first year with the Blues, scoring three goals.
Tanner had a few loans before Carlisle signed him, might have a similar profile to Pring. Or maybe Atkinson, who's played well for us coming from a lower league. If Pearson does bring Tanner to AG I'd be hopeful of another good signing.
Nigel Pearson open to permanent Hearts move for Taylor Moore and talks Bristol City transfers Robins manager gave some extra detail to the 24-year-old centre-backs move to Tynecastle at the weekend https://www.bristolpost.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/nigel-pearson-taylor-moore-hearts-5849637
I agree, I have confidence in Pearson to only sign players he thinks are going to add something to the group, he doesn’t have the money to buy the finished article so will look for the players he feels with guidance will become good in time.
I said as much when news of TM joining Hearts came out. One way or another I can’t see him coming back.
Just read a tweet from a Carlisle supporter saying that in Carlisle's Carabao cup match at Sheff Utd he played as a centre back and faired well against physical players like McBurnie and Brewster, he added something along the lines of "I suspect BCFC must have been watching him that night".
I know nothing about this guy, but like I do all players and managers, I welcome him to the club and wish him well and hope he brings success to BCFC! We just need a striker in now and Pearson has the depth he said he needed across the squad. Good to see SL backing NP with c£2m in this time of tight finances, I have been critical of a lot of what SL has allowed to happen, but he does support his managers financially as much as our situation at the time dictates.
Yep. Accrington Stanley have just signed a striker on loan from WBA. Might not mean anything of course.
