If you are a swans fan anywhere in the world and you want a shirt then you will buy one....Nobody gives a toss who makes the bloody things....The main thing from the clubs point of view is what this company can do to supply the club with all aspects of kit and casual wear for players and staff......Shirts sold to fans is secondary where you have the option to buy or not.....The club will make thousands of pounds at home and abroad whoever makes the shirts.

A shirt's a shirt at the end of the day...as long as a player can tell who's on his own side and who's an opponent, that's all that counts. <whistle>

No need to get shirty, Phil...

I totally agree a shirt is a shirt and to be honest if the players perform in them I wouldn't care if they were Stanno. However, its not a well known or sort after brand worldwide or even in Swansea, the replica shirts will sell, the rest will be filling the club shop for the whole season and will be a loss in revenue from the last 5 years of Adidas.

More like a full mental straight jacket
People who are super close to the club will buy anything the club comes out with , everyone else will only buy a guality , sharp looking product. . The idea is to sell it all over so quality and sharp looking are a must IMO.
The prove will be in the pudding . All in how you want you're " Brand " to look as it wonders the world .

“This really is an exciting partnership,’’ confirmed Swans vice-chairman and commercial director, Leigh Dineen. “I believe it’s a fantastic match.
“We have been discussing this working partnership for some time and their enthusiasm for the project and the club has been overwhelming.
“While Joma is a major world player in the quality manufacture and supply of sportswear and footwear, their flexibility, focus and commitment to Swansea City has impressed everyone at the club.
“They have been fully committed to providing the club with exclusivity, autonomy and a bespoke kit that is different to everyone else and designed with the players and fans very much in mind.
“Like Swansea City, Joma is a close-knit and family-focussed company that is modern and dynamic. We both aim to deliver sporting excellence.’’

Established in 1965 by Fructuoso Lopez, Joma is the leading sports company in Spain with commercial activity in more than 100 countries around the world.

What's not to like? If Leigh Dineen is excited then I'm sure we will be too. :emoticon-0169-dance

You have never heard of them trunds ? They are a world famous brand used by clubs everywhere and have been used by clubs wearing other brands at some point. Its not the brand that matters it's what they can offer better than the brand currently using. I think they are a brilliant supplier that the club can work with for a number of years....I cant see where you are coming from with loss of revenue i really cant. It's the new kit the fans see not whether it's adidas or any other make. They will sell just like any other brand if they want a new shirt or clothing as that is the clubs preferred sponsor from now on until someone offers a better deal.....

What's not to be excited about for Dineen , his 50,000 £ investment is turning into 5,000,000 £ pay out . Only Armonte shirts for him from here ......I see I spelt that wrong , class eh . Nothing like a good old Armonte shirt ( doh )

Yes I have heard of them and they are a bargain basement brand, not one that portrays a forward looking club, as I have said I don't really care what the shirt is as most kids will want one whatever brand, But I am sure I have never seen any 110 - 16 year old kids walking round in a Joma tracksuit or t shirt or training tops and that is where the problem lays in that they will not be sold in anywhere near the numbers that Adidas was. Just my thoughts Dai, but we will have to wait and see.

Gone off Adidas big style the last two years. You end up with so many teams sharing shirt styles and training kits with nothing but the crest different. They make you order early and in bulk, and that's why we end up with flash sales at the end of each season - because we buy too much and then are practically giving them away at £15 a shirt by the end, most likely making close to, if not, a loss. This has been the same every season under Adidas.

I don't understand the majority of you slating Joma - just because you associate it with poor quality, it doesn't mean that the rest of the world does. Some of you seem to think that your opinion must be the world's opinion?! Joma are a massive company across Latin America and Europe, and just because they don't have significant presence in the UK, that makes them globally weak? They have presence in La Liga, Ligue 1, Serie A, and a massive presence in Brazil, Argentina, Mexico, and Eastern Europe. Fact is that without knowing the ins and outs of the deal, your opinions unfortunately mean nothing - maybe Swansea City shirts are going to be ready available for purchase throughout all of Latin America (just a small 700,000,000 people)? Maybe they're going to be stocked more heavily throughout Eastern Europe than we have ever had in the past? Ah...but because they aren't going to be on sale in JD Sports in London, the deal must be terrible.

I'm not claiming that the deal is necessarily the best thing for the club, I don't know the details of the deal to make that assumption. But for you guys to immediately associate this deal as a step backwards is quite simply short-sighted and ignorant. We were getting shafted by Adidas - forced to buy more stock than we needed for fear of running out and being out of stock for months while Adidas' slow delivery crawls to Swansea. We were the little man with Adidas - given a choice of stock kits that we could put our badge on. With Joma, at least we're the big fish - we'll be given an exclusive kit and probably better ordering terms.

Lada, Yugo, and Skoda ( before VW got involved). These were all car manufacturers. Major piss was ripped out of anyone who drove one.
    A car is a car isn't it ?
To claim the fact that brand is irrelevant is just ridiculous.
When you see the players getting off the luxury coach ( although a bus is a bus innit ?) you seen them wearing their Beats Audio headphones - not Tandy specials, or for that matter a better sounding set of headphones than the Beats ones. Why ? Because they are associated with cool. If it's not cool, a lot of people don't want to be seen with that product. You must know this Dai.....it's got nothing to do with quality - only the image that a particular brand carries.
I have no doubt that the actual quality of the Joma products will match the Adidas quality.
However, with that horrid Joma font and lack of brand identity I'm sure it will be an ugly runt of a kit from a design standpoint.
    Adidas has the 3 stripes.
    Nike has the tick
    Puma has the ummm Puma
Joma has - what does Joma have ?
