Please no - tell me this is a lie. I associate Joma with lower league and non league teams. It seems that we started in the PL with 'Infiniti' on the headrests of the seats in the dugout - now replaced with Low Cost Vans. Joma are to Adidas what Low Cost Vans are to Infiniti. I for one will not be buying anything that has Joma on it. I'll buy the new Welsh jersey instead.
Just looked at which teams in the English League are using Joma : Rushden & Diamonds Bath City Chippenham Town Corby Town Dorchester Town Exeter City Gloucester City Havant & Waterlooville Histon Kidderminster Harriers Nuneaton Town Stockport County Sutton United THAT SUMS IT UP !!! ****ING NON-LEAGUE BULLSHIT.
As long as the deal is right and we have not sold ourselves short then i don't care who makes our kit. fans will buy them regardless and kids will pester their parents for one on their birthdays or xmas present. Sponsorship is one of the important revenue for any club and one shirt looks very much like the rest at the end of the day just different colours and the odd neckline......Nobody goes to a match saying "look at him he is not wearing an Adidas shirt do they" Fans will want the latest kit whoever makes it, What is more important is how much money the club will get from the sponsor...
Because image in all businesses is very important Dai isn't it. It's the 'Premier' League, not the Poundland league. Personally I think this will damage our image overseas as well. Whoever signed off on this deal must not have a clue about image. Gutted.
Image you say ...What a load of bollox. nobody gives a fcuk who makes the shirt at all only the sponsorship deal and the money we get is important....A shirt is just that a shirt nothing more nothing less and if you want one you buy one. The club don't look at the maker at all they look for the best deal they can get....
I trust you don't do marketing Dai, global brands are affiliated to big businesses. Considering we are about to be taken over by Americans, they are going to have great difficulty in recouping some of the outlay in shirt sales, in the US and Asia markets with a Joma brand. Now with Adidas, Nike, Puma, Under Armour & New Balance big companies that are recognised around the world.
It is all about how much money we can make and once the contract is up we will move on to anyone who can better the deal......It don't matter who makes the shirt as we have used most of them and will probably use again at some point....But the club has no interest whether a fan likes the shirt or not. it wont care one iota and will go with what is available and the best deal.......Does it really matter who makes the shirt at the end of the day if the club is happy with the deal.....the only difference i have found is some makes wash better than others and keep their shape better but the club wont care about that as they use new shirts for most games. Each player will go through 19 home shirts if they play every home game........A good tip when you come to wash your shirt is turn them inside out and put it in a pillow case as i find it keeps its shape much better....
Spoke with a person who was invited to the shirt launch/promo video. The person did not like the shirt at all."Terrible" was the word used. One reason the change came about, apparently, was Adidas were slow on the delivery side. It's all about personal opinions though.Life would be very boring if we all liked the same.
Look at it this way , we'll be the first to wear it in the PL yet another one over on the rather quiet neighbours .
We still think like a poxy l2 club, I know they said they weren't happy with the time it takes Adidas to get product to us and Joma will be quicker, but they wont have to worry about that as the club shop will be full of unsold replica.
Not to much positivity anywhere around this switch. http://metro.co.uk/2016/05/04/swans...-new-kit-deal-with-manufacturer-joma-5857883/
