Is that provisional dates and are all allowed in or not? I expected mid September start and a right f*ck on sorting out seating arrangements.

Where did you get your start dates from Monty, I thought new season didn't start until September?

Wiki and the Portsmouth rag are saying 29th August. Although, the Portsmouth rag also says 12th September is the other date being touted. Nothing is decided yet, I don’t think.

I can’t see us all being allowed in until next year, mate.

If our crowds are down to 20000 which is poss considering all of the alleged season tkt returns I am hoping it can be sorted out and were in from the start. I think that is my heart rather then my head talking though.

How can they start a new season
Without supporters in
When they couldn’t finish a season without supporters in
Double standards
We shall have to wait untill it’s safe for supporters to attend
Before we start the new season ??????????

It's a very valid point, and at our level we will not survive without match day revenue. At my club (Gills) I believe we now only have nine contracted players, and two of them are either free to leave or on the transfer list. It really is a case of having to offload players off the wage bill at the moment. I'd rather be fighting a season relegation battle, than losing my club, because we had to pay wages, when the income has dried up.

Some match day revenue could be recovered by screening every game in the absence of fans, via clubs online play systems, for say £10+ per game, however, I don't know what the contractual complications are behind that, because I expect some TV 'highlights' will already be pre-owned.

We already do this, mate. It is £10 to watch our games live.

I don’t think I’d be prepared to enter the ground any time this year, whether we are allowed in or not.

That's it Saf, exactly what I was alluding to, but I couldn't remember what the system was called. At the Gills we can only watch midweek away games live, if they don't fall on a weekend or a Tuesday night is the rules, I think. All about ownership rights regard broadcasting.

I do know ex pats, can watch our home games live, because short clips get posted into twitter.

It is a good solution for a quick fix for sure, if each club can work around the contractual obligations. Hopefully someone understands all this a bit better than me <ok>
