Looks fantastic if the application is successful. Also strongly support the idea of a continuous walkway alongside the river, one of my least favourite things about the cottage is how if you're in the riverside stand you have to backtrack on yourself pretty much do a full circle of the ground to get out afterwards.
I think it looks fantastic and really hope it happens. The view of the stand from the river and internal areas look good too. On a side note, can anyone work out who's scoring against Chelsea in the pic? Nice touch by the computer artist!
I think it's Bobby Zamora. One big problem about the proposal is that it requires to build extra foundations in the River Thames for the walkway and extra weight of the stand. Something I think the club don't own.
Good shouts re the scorers. A licence will be required from British Waterways for the river works but I'm sure that will be readily available in return for a (large) fee. I'm sure the Club will have taken that into account in their costings.
I thought that too, SuperBrian, when I looked at the image as shown above, but when I cropped it to just the scorer and enlarged it, the grainy figure who emerged looked more like AJ's colouring (the pale bald head was the biggest push in his direction!).
Does anyone not feel that the stand looks out of place? It looks huge in comparison to the other three stands!
Wow. Might think about swapping my ST. On the scorer - brilliant artistic licence. Unfortunately neither AJ or Bobby have scored against Chelsea at CC. The last was Demps who got both in a 2-2 draw in 2008/9. We can but Dream.
Yeah it really looks modern. Good look I think. Old heritage in Haynes on one side. Passion of Hammy in the middle and Modern Riverside on the other side. Well done Al Fayed and Mackintosh.
I thought something similar, Bandy. It's not so much the scale as the style that struck me - it looks sleek and shiny and modern, whereas the JH (God bless it) is none of those things. I guess that's something that's already true of our ground, and is an unavoidable part of having a stand with listed building status. If it increases our capacity and makes it easier getting tickets for some games, I can certainly live with it.
It looks impressive and has my vote. JH represents Fulham's heritage and history, while Riverside symbolises the future and the club's progress all these years. Prefer my wooden seat though!
