According to a report on the Daily Mail (NOT the most reliable source ever) and covered on CL, Charlton Athletic employees are considering action over unpaid bonuses.
If true, it's another pathetic low in RD's ongoing struggle to take Charlton to the depths. It'll be fun to see the comms team spin this as an emvironmental positive.

If true, this story is one of a serious breach of trust that will (as the report says) shatter staff morale.
If the staff have evidence of an agreement they have worked hard to honour their part of, which has then been reneged upon, they should certainly pursue it by every available means.

I only heard about this after posting a thank you message on another forum to a member of staff for fixing a problem with my ticket account at the Club. Staff at the Club probably try to do the best they can and don't seem to receive much thanks.

Confected anger, whipped up by the Usual Suspects.

The staff have worked in low paid jobs for a sh1t owner for over 4 years now.

Most people in that position would get new jobs.

    Why haven’t they ?

Just seen on Charlton Life(through a link from the Daily Mail) that bonuses are (allegedly)not being paid to staff.

This is disgraceful, and a shame that it is not the players that are not getting paid. They would be able to wave their contract in the face of Dushitelet. Unfortunately any complaints from non-playing staff could be met with consequences they cannot afford.

Still, never mind, he saved us in 2014!

If your boss in the charity shop had destroyed that shop over the last 4 years ...ripped the fittings out, flogged all the stock at a discount and not replaced it...I think the alarm bells would have rung for you ?

What would you have done :

    1. Jumped before pushed, and found another job

    2. Hung it out, in order to be a Social Media martyr.

Don't understand what point you are trying to make here Royston. That everitt somehow managed to persuade the Mail to run a fake story? Or that the employees of Charlton Athletic have invented a bonus in order to plant it? Or that they deserve to be cheated for staying in a low paid job?
It even backs up your previous rumour that harder cuts were on their way at the Valley if RD remained in charge, but bizarrely now there is a supporting story you have chosen to rubbish it.

Its disgusting and indefensible that a near billionaire should deprive some staff of their bonuses. That goes without saying.

But equally, it can't be denied that Duchatelet has done a lot of disgusting and indefensible things over the last 4 and a half years.

I've just had this exchange with one of the ringleaders - ex employee Mr Stone - who says they stay because "hundreds" of people apply for their jobs. Its a myth. They don't. They choose to work there, and they've had over 4 years to get another job. None of this excuses RD's behaviour.

Okay, fair enough. But my experience includes a long spell working for a boss I loathed. The compensations were the group I worked with were good guys, and I also stayed as due to the economic crisis, I couldn't find a job offering anything near the wages I had, or the indefinate contract. I have a mortgage and two kids, and had to put up with the boss and the average wage to keep putting food on the table. It isn't always easy to change jobs.

Fair points too Ken, but this is London and a buoyant job market. Four and half years ?? A couple of the staff I am guessing have been affected relish their insider status, so sorry, no sympathy from me.

Sup with a long spoon, as @ForestHillBilly would say.

Tickets for the Southend away game are *supposed* to go on general sale today. When you try booking them on the club website, it says they are "unavailable".

Then tried phoning the ticket office for the best part of 45 min - nobody picking up the phone.
