It seems to me we're in a great position re. getting new players in from the lower leagues to improve the squad next year. First, the top clubs (and Liverpool) won't look at them because they'll be going for the latest big names on the Continent. That leaves the second tier who could offer higher transfer fees and (more importantly) higher wages - teams like Villa, Sunderland and so on. On the other hand, the players themselves, if they have any sense, will see what Lambert has done for Pilkington, Bennett, Jackson et al, and are likely to make the decision that Norwich represents their best chance of making it (and getting games) at the top level.

And Lambert is one hell of a judge of a footballer's potential.

So whoever he decides he wants - Rhodes or Rodriguez or someone completely off the radar who he has somehow identified - I think we stand a good chance of getting without having to break either the bank or our salary structure.

    Happy times indeed.

The only problem is, other clubs may have looked at our model and will try to copy it!

Both fair comments but I am over the moon with where we are, what I am hearing and where we are going.

For the first time in a long long while the future is ..............well yellow and green actually.

If Jimmy Kebe could cross a ball like he did for Reading's goal just then, all the time, he would be the first name on my shopping list. Unbelievable cross!

I agree with much of this, but would like to see more credit given to Ian Culverhouse, who Lambert himself admitted has been the one behind many of the new player selections.

As for players, I would like to see Kightley or Snodgrass to give another option on the right wing. If Alby is going to move on, Rhodes or Chris Woods might come in. The much mentioned Chris Gunter of Forest to replace Naughton is another possibility. But other than that, I can't see that this squad needs much improvement. What an achievement! OTBC!

I have a feeling we may have talked about targets such as snodgrass and rhodes too much and they may be a bit too well known for lambert to pay over inflated prices. He always surprises me, never expected howson in january just hoping he pulls some more blinders like he has done so far for us!
