there has been a new premiership TV deal recently which is up 70% on the previous deal worth £1.77bn. this is in part due to BT getting some games, so they will now be shared amongst BT, BSB, and ESPN. this deal is over 3 years from the 2013-4 season onwards.

sometimes you have to stop and think how much money that actually is. BILLION, 3 BILLION FFS. £3,000,000,000.

all this means is already insanely high wages and fees get even higher. all whilst ticket prices which are a drop in the ocean compared to those huge figures increase for most fans this year.

puts the £100m figure bandied about by our club into perspective....;)

hit the nail on the head there aber. my point was that although things like shirt sales, ticket sales are nothing in comparison to these figures, they seem to go up by a few quid most years, makes no difference to the profit of the club but a difference to the fans.....

quite simply this will just inflate already highly inflated player salaries, the clubs cant help themselves.....<ok>

Here's the thing, who else is sponsoring the premier league? This 3 billion isn't from BSB, BT and ESPN alone is it? If so then how much more is given to the premier league globally?

taff i was wrong actually, espn pulled out, the deal is for sky and bt only, foreign revenues are seperate and not included in the £3bn <ok>

makes it costs about £6m per match broadcast for sky and £10m for bt or something.....<ok>

one things for sure sky were **** scared as their whole business plan is based on monopolising sporting events....<ok> thing is i think sky will ramp up their sky sports subscription to pay for it all, and if that happens then internet streams FTW <ok>
