Forgot to mention previously but whilst watching the squash at the kc recently, I had a pie from the concourse cabins. They were bob on. Steak and ale. Beautiful. A mate had the chicken tikka and another had some other chicken and something (can't remember what now) and compared to the ****e that we've had to endure in recent seasons, it was as if we'd employed Heston to do the catering. Happy days!
Now I'm hungry, what prices were they dishing em out at? Sack it I'm off for a quick pint before bed I'm shaking!
Didn't the previous company go into admin, leaving the SMC to have to find a new company and presumably a new supplier.
They did indeed, so we do have a new caterer for the coming season and they obviously can't be any worse than the last mob.
It's not just the quality of the food though is it ? The "Staff" that serve at the kiosks should be given basic training at the very least. I had to tell one of the cashiers how to use the till. Not ideal when the queues are 15 deep. Anything on last season is an improvement. How is the service upstairs ?
The members bar is downstairs and it's improved a bit this season, to start with it was as bad as the concourse, if you went down after the whistle went for half time, there was a decent chance of not getting a drink before the second half kicked off. They increased the staff levels and it's improved a bit now, they also added a cask ale and you can get a half decent pie, peas and gravy. They've also now closed the membership, so it can't get any busier, as you can still have thirty people queuing when it's a big game.
Not quite. They did go bust but it was in March and we've had new suppliers in place since the Forest game.
The staff are horrendous, i don't think the KC could have employed people with any less common sense if they tried. Hardy any speak English and give you the wrong item about five times, they give you the wrong change and take about 10 minutes to make a drink which they end up putting in a dirty, used cup. I take my own stuff in with me now, it's like having Joe Kinnear serve you numerous time
