Just thought I'd let people know of the new benefits package that comes with joining the OSC from this season as most people probably won't be aware. In all honesty it's been a bit worthless for the last year or so because the club took away all the benefits but it's actually now looking like a better package than before in my opinion. OSC members get:

Free entry to the 'Sports arena' before games. I think this is a bar with cheaper drinks than elsewhere at the stadium (£2.80 a pint for most beers, with further discounts between 12.45 & 1.45). Players/ex-players will be coming in for little interview/chats before games.

There will be three fans forums per season, one in September, one in December and one in February and all three will be free to OSC members. There will also be the usual end of season awards night which is also free of charge to members.

An additional 500 teamcard points on your season pass as well as the 500 you get for being a season card holder.

Player visits. Each branch of the OSC will get at least one first team squad player visit per season. These will also be free entry to OSC members.

    Free KC stadium tour.

Training ground visits for lucky members, mainly juniors.

It's £8 for adults to join for a year (£6 for juniors) and it's even cheaper to join for two or three years. It more than pays for itself IMO with all the benefits above. Here's the link to join online.

I've been very critical of the OSC in the past, and still have reservations so I'll understand if this comes across as hostile, but it's not meant to be, it's meant as a genuine question.

What purpose does the OSC serve? For example, are they set up to be the fans voice to the club, or are they more to get fans offers and discounts?

This is something we've debated in the past. I really don't think the aim is to be a voice of anything. That's more what the FLAG setup is for. It's just a club to promote the club really. The idea is that they work with the club for a mutual benefit. The club use the OSC to bring in fans by offering rewards/discounts etc. It hasn't happened for the last year or so because there really weren't any incentives to join the OSC.

I cancelled my membership last season when they introduced a charge for entry into the sports bar so if it is now free then I will consider re-joining. Thanks for the info. :emoticon-0116-evilg

That's the thing. The OSC used to have the sports bar for free but it was taken away last season. I think this 'sports arena' which I mentioned is actually something slightly different. It might even be at the Bonus Arena rather than the stadium itself, I don't know.
