Has anyonebeen down the club shop and heard that the staff are advising against having no 24 and Allen on the shirt, don't know how much.truth is in this but you never know hope it a wum ???
I'm waiting on news of Allens number for the forthcoming season. I always have had 'Allen 24' on my shirt. My theory is he is going to bag the no.6 shirt now that Bodde has departed! Only time will tell! Roll on the start of the season!
Oh i hope so as i have heard arsenal are in for him for 10mill which.i think is down right cheeky. would he want no6 i would class that as a cb rather than a midfielder
Happend to me some years ago, the club don't like to put last season names and numbers on new shirts as some player might change their numbers. So all I would say is nothing in it, as they won't take the shirt back if the name and numbers are wrong.
We have players leaving & players coming in, plus we have players in the first 11 without numbers in there. So 6 probably not for him but when it's all sorted I guess the ones 1-11 will be our first team.
Cracker how much will it take us to replace him with the same quality who can play our way not easy i would think
I don't agree now that we have a manager in with obviously good contacts and a track record elsewhere. As someone else has pointed out previously you can get quality, particularly from overseas, for much, much cheaper. I know I'm in a minority here but I think Allen, whilst having a very good season on the whole had lots of poor games and gave the ball away cheaply at times. More consistency in his game and he truly would be worth over £10M but until then, SOLD! at that price for me. Yes, an important player for us that I wouldn't want to lose but he's not not indispensable provided he doesn't leave it too late and gives us a problem getting someone in. I actually think very few players are indispensable. Maybe Vorm as he's class and good keepers are hard to come by. The keeper is the most important position on the pitch for me. Without a decent one you're doomed at any level.
The old WM formation was:- 1) GK 2) Right Back 3) Left Back 4) Right Half 5) Centre Half 6) Left Half 7) Right Wing 8) Inside Right 9) Centre Forward 10) Inside Left 11) Left Wing This was the standard line up for most teams for years, until squad numbers, different formations and subs were introduced. Then you had the likes of Zidane wearing the No 5 shirt - possibly the most gifted "centre half" in the history of the game!
