I see @dickplumb1 is no longer the moderator here on the Charlton forum. Has he left completely? He is still showing as a regular member. Looks like we will be needing somebody to step up and take on the mod job. Any takers?
As just posted in the 'my absence' thread, I would be willing to take the job on again as long as nobody objects or would prefer to take the position themselves. And as long as @brb would accept me back.
I won’t break any confidences, but I have been in touch with Dick Plumb today and I regret to inform everyone that he has quit 606. Best wishes to Dicky for the future. Now that we are back down to single figure membership, we need a calm & experienced member as our new Mod. I nominate @lardiman
Sorry to hear that Dickplumb has left. I hope he will return when matters in his personal life allow him to.
@lardiman Going forward, can I make a suggestion. Let’s delete or lock all of the non football threads on here. If anyone objects to this , now is the time to say. Otherwise, let’s do it.
What, even threads about favourite biscuits, pubs, or Sh*tholes of England? There'll be trouble - especially between about midnight and 1am GMT I expect a workable compromise can be reached
How about you don't look at threads that may upset you? I'm all for open debate on a wide range of subjects, including politics and favourite soups.
Politics has a habit of finding it's way out of the Politics thread on to other threads. Which invariably become acrimonious.
Politics are very divisive. Opinions tend to be polarised these days due to the nature of social media.
Please let's agree to disagree amicably chaps. At this rate we'll need a moderator soon I've started a conversation with brb, I hope he can help us out. He's very busy though so things may take a little time.
