Hey All, I've been a follower of 606 in both its current and BBC form for a number of years now. I live in Sheffield and as such do not attend many games, although I did see the match against Leeds yesterday and had a few views: * It was generally a pretty poor game, had much more interest in the Peregrine Falcon above me, which is pretty cool tbh. * Leeds looked alright, but nothing special. They very successfully put their men behind the ball and looked to attack on the counter, a tactic they then scored from, which was actually a pretty good goal. This is a tactic most teams seem to use- at the last home game I went to, against Bristol City, I noticed a very similar style. * Sol was our best player by a country mile, although I also felt Konchesky looked good (and feel he doesn't get the credit he deserves- whenever I've seen him he looks assured and lively). Gallagher also in the first half looked quite good, but Wellens and King in particular looked poor. * It's probably been said before, but we need pace. It looked to me like we needed Dyer or Vassell to come on and tire their defence- though obviously they're injured. I thought Schlupp looked like he could have done this, does anyone else think with work we could craft him into that winger we so desire? He has the attributes for it. Despite loving his workrate, I think Howard starting was the wrong choice- should have been Beckford from the start- he looked pretty fired up when he came on. Btw, I think Pearson would be a good choice as manager, should have the motivation we need, and the team is still just about still his- Wellens, King, Gallagher, etc. will still get in in my opinion. And the last thing, I have a little curse on the team everytime I go- the last 3 games have all been home losses, sorry about that. I'll try and warn everyone next time I'm coming... Would be nice for some feedback, sorry it's all a little rambling
Welcome I wouldn't worry about the curse, I thought I had a lucky jacket mid way through last season, 8 home games into this one and it's clearly not I agree with most of your points, it was a shocking game and without the pace or speed in moving the ball, we couldn't break a solid Leeds down. I disagree about Schlupp, he does have pace but his finishing has been other thing that has stood out. I think we need to develop him into a striker, he has the attributes for it. We need a winger on loan or permanent in January, that is very clear. I'm not sure about Pearson, it is a different job this time around and if we are to be at our best we need to play quick attacking football. Our players are not suited to slow, one dimensional football. On the other hand, we have a much better squad than when he took over last time and a lot more money to spend, so there is more opportunity for him to play the kind of football we all want to see. He will get them playing as a team, which is vital, and he will bring some team spirit back. I think we have a good chance of the play-offs under him.
Welcome aboard And whilst we're on a happy note, well done to Jeff Schlupp for getting a call-up to the Ghana squad.
It sounds a little like he was trying to play attacking football with the Hull squad. Get us a winger (we can utilise Gallagher/Dyer as the other!) and a 4-3-3 could work. I'm sure Steve Walsh could produce a gem- he was responsible for Tom Cleverley's first appearances, and we know where he's got to! Greatness, is there any information on Jeff Schlupp? I was just checking the LCFC website and couldn't find anything.

Welcome! Pretty much agree with what you said but not sure about Schlupp as a winger instead of striker. He should definitely be given more time on the pitch though. If NP is back, I reckon he'll get the team playing together pretty soon which seems to be the main problem. Curses? Tell me about 'em - whenever I post on a match day, we ****-up, so am going to avoid that for couple of games and see what happens!
