We don't appear to be doing too well so far this season, not simply the results, but, from what I've read, not playing well. I say 'appear' because it is still early and things can improve. However, that said, one has to ask at what point in the season do you think seriously about a change of manager? The next three games may well turn out to be a crucial period for us. A good result in any one of the three, a reasonable (draw) result in any two would be acceptable, but a thrashing in all three disaterous. A lot has been written on this blog about Lomas, some of it serious, some tounge in cheek and some just plain banter, but how good is he/can he be?

Here in Oz we have just finished our Rugby League season and some of the clubs have already sacked their coaches (managers to you), indeed some just weeks before the season ended. Last night, the team that won the League Premiership sacked their coach about a month ago and installed an interim coach to finish the season, which, in the event, he did very well!

I'm not saying we should sack Lomas now, if at all, but at what point should we decide to do so? After all, we aren't exactly struggling for points at present, but, as I said, we aren't playing too well. Why? Is it just the manager, or is it the players? We seem to have a reasonable bunch on the paddock but they aren't performing as we would like them to. We always prided ourselves on having a good defence, but looking at the goal difference gives a lie to that. Player attitude or manager competence? I say, leave it 'till Christmas. Give Lomas a fair go and the players time to sort themselves into a cohesive team. If, by the Yultide, things haven't improved we should be able to see that it is either one or the other, players or manager. Chrissie is not too late in the season to improve our position on the table. Promotion may not be an option (it isn't now!) but a top half finish would suffice to build for next year.

    Any comments?

Good write up Brizzie you should do it more often <ok>

I dont think we are bad just inconsistant we play top of the table Blackpool and beat them, We go to Charlton and beat them, We play Leeds and totally out class them, Then we are dumped 4-0 and humiliated 5-2 <doh> We need a no nonsence manager who will make the ****ers perform no matter who we are playing Lomas does try to be no nonsence and doesnt seem to mind dropping players if they are ****e for a game but somethings not right. Maybe Lomas is right for the job but needs more time. <ok>

Give him 2 weeks if dont get a win on the board shoot the ****er <whistle>

Will say again good piece Brizzie <ok>

Honest opinion, you are beating teams by dragging them down to your scraping style of play, you get away with it at home by intimidating the ref.If teams stick to there footballing style, they rip you to pieces.Doesn't say a lot for us but the millwall team I saw against Leeds and charlton is the worst I can ever remember seeing. Wouldn't surprise me if you beat QPR by stopping them playing but I think Reading and Burnley will rip you to pieces.Any team that battles has a good chance of staying up and I think you will just.

The problem with that m8 is you've seen us 5 times but not millwall 5 times. The reason I think we are better is if you look at the teams we've both played.

    Millwall Leeds
    Ipswitch L3-0 Ipswich w2-1
    B/mouth L5-2 B/mouth w2-1
    S/WEDNESDAY BOTH DREW
    Derby L5-1 Derby L3-1
    Brighton D1-1 Brighton w2-1
    PTS 2 ........ PTS 10
I know you beat us but that's just the den.
