Guingamp - Currently 12th in Ligue 1. Sounds about right.

 

I would take him in a heartbeat (As manager of the football club) his worked wonders with Guingamp and even won a cup with them. I believe they were 2 divs down from Ligue 1 when he took over too, so thats a double promotion, a cup win and now they look like a comfortable ligue 1 team in france and lets face it, the guy hasnt really had the type of budget we have, even if its 10-15m a season.

 

There is that.My worry is that we will continue to sign a bunch of unknown French players to complement his appointment [if he is appointed.] The players we have signed have proven time and time again that they bottle it.

Jocelyn Gourvennec (born 22 March 1972 in Brest) was a French football (soccer) player in midfield role. During his time at Marseille he played in the 1999 UEFA Cup Final.

He was named EA Guingamp manager on May 2010.[1] On May 3rd 2014, he led Guingamp to success in the Coupe de France for only their second time by beating his old club Stade Rennais. He has just signed papers to take on the role as head coach, for Newcastle based side Sports Direct United, for the 2015/16 season.

Know little about him, but rather than the 'safe-ish' Mclaren choice..I am tending to hope an appointment like Guingamp happens.. someone that will push us on, develop us and clean out the rotten structures within the club (or at least try too with respect to what can ACTUALLY be changed (rather than keep doing the same ol' thing in the same ol' way and expecting it to work ...which is kinda what I think Mclaren will be bringing to the the table)
