Tottenham were rocked in October by the tragic death of fitness coach Gian Piero Ventrone, who was a close friend of Antonio Conte's and a popular figure among players. Antonio Conte’s assistant, Cristian Stellini, has revealed Tottenham are set for a mental reboot after the staff and players “felt the love" from the club during a tough time. Stellini has revealed the club’s internal support back then helped staff as well as players deal with the trauma. “When you are close, you are friends,” he said. “You are really close to a person like Gian Piero. “For me, it was a big loss, for Antonio as well, but we are close to him for a long time. When everything happens like this, it can have a great impact. Then you don't have time [to speak] because life goes on very quickly, but we need time. It is very deep. “What I can say is that we feel a lot of love from the club. We realised that this club is a special club because they were so close with us to give us all the support, and that was amazing.”
Best wishes to Conte hope all goes well. I know they can do this operation with keyhole surgery but it can still take 2 - 3 months to get back to full fitness. He could still do the admin and pick the team but taking training will be difficult for some time. Spurs will miss having the manager there to profit from the buzz in the squad with the arrival of the new players.
He's had a really tough year. Losing 2 very close friends at a young age. Wish you well Antonioooooooooooooooooooo
Now we have a physically compromised manager and a mentally compromised director of football. let's prepare ourselves for a tough period.
NHS says it can take up to 2 months to resume “full activity” for such procedures. Did Conte have it done in the UK or Italy?
