Now that the inevitable has happened, yet again we launch another search for a manager. Hopefully they’ll get it right this time.

Who do you fancy to take the Mem hot seat?

There’s a few out there - Neil Harris, Des Buckingham, Scott Bartlett (WSM), Steven Schumacher for example.

Currently I’d favour Harris, Schumacher or Buckingham.

If we could get him my choice would be the current manager of Ipswich, he took Ipswich up from league1 to the premier in 2 seasons so he understands the requirements of the job or if available Steve Cooper the ex Nottingham Forest manager.

It would be nice to have somebody who has experience of the division we aspire to be in

Yeah, I doubt the Ipswich manager will leave the Prem and head for a struggling side in L1.

That's really weird that Aitor Karanka has come out of nowhere to be 1/3 favourite. According to the odds, the next nearest is Gary Rowett at 5/1. That's a big difference. Karanka would certainly be one from leftfield and it's really strange that his odds are so short this early in the recruitment process......

Oh, and please, please not Michael Appleton, Holden or Little Lee....

The top 5 order has changed now... (using the same link I added previously)

    Lee Catermole 11/8
    Aitor Karanka 13/8
    Steven Schumacher 10/1
    Gary Rowett 16/1
    Michael Appleton 25/1

Four names mentioned on Bristol Live

Gary Rowett, Lee Cattermole, Kevin Nolan, Andy Mangan, also says that Rovers could look into the Spanish 2nd division for an unknown

Gary Bowyer (ex Blackburn and Dundee manager) has taken the vacant hot seat at one of our relegation rivals, Burton Albion.

The problem with Cattermole is that he has no management experience. It’s a cheap fix as he’s already in the building.

I’d rather have Mangan back if we’re going for someone with little management experience.

I always thought they should have given Andy Mangan a chance when they sacked Barton, If I remember his record was 3 wins, 2 draws and a defeat in the 6 matches he was caretaker manager for and he new the players, their strengths and weaknesses.

Matt Taylor I believe had just been sacked by Rotherham when he came to us and he complained about the number of injuries and the fact they were not his players

Apparently Lee Cattermole is the early favourite to be the new manager of Rovers

Strange he was brought in without the managers knowledge who was then promptly sacked

Just saying as an outsider going by their records maybe Graham Coughlan or Darrell Clarke should of been given more time? Poor board discussions?

Coughlan left of his own accord when we were 4th in League 1! I've never understood that - and he's never managed in L1 again - only L2.

Clarke, I completely agree. He was a Gas legend and should've been given more time. Good manager and a good man.

However, both of the above managed under different ownership than we have now, so we can't really blame today's board for the mistakes of past owners.

According to Bristol Live Rovers hope to have the new manager in place in time for the Boxing day trip to Exeter, there is no clues as to his or her identity

Daniel Hargraves seems to think that our new manager will be foreign.
