I think most people know my opinion on Warnock and if you don't then I will state clearly that I hope to hell he sticks to retiring at the end of this season. Anyway, the manager position at Leeds United got me thinking about who should replace him. I actually have no idea who I would want to replace Warnock, although I'm really strong that we need an experienced manager and not a former player, coach or supporter of the club, unless they have a proven track record. I wanted Warnock and it's been a disaster, so it shows what I know about the requirements of a manager. One person that may be available (if things keep going the way they are) is Martin O'Neill. I know he's been very close to being the Leeds manager a couple of times and his record since leaving Celtic is not that great, but he could be the man to bring the glory days back to ER. What about Paul Lambert, again not doing well in his current job and could be ready to jump ship (if not sacked) before the start of next season. He's shown he knows the Championship with Norwich and can bring on players, but Villa have been woeful this season and he doesn't seem to know what to do. Anyway, just a discussion of which I'm sure many will have an opinion.
O'Neill is doing okay at Sunderland, think they'll pull away in the second half of the table and finish comfortably mid table and they'll rely on him to continue building. Think he did a very good job at Villa, although he did spend a lot of money. Can't see Lambert getting the sack either, the fans were desperate for him and they'll stick with him, he's got a young team and he's lowered the wage bill like he was told to. Chairmen love a manager who does what he's told.
