Looks like McCarthy who is now 1/2 favourite. The advantage he has over Curbs is that he has worked in the league recently where as Curbs has been out of management for 4 years

    McCarthy. Nailed-on.

Well-known manager. Terrible pundit. Got to pay the bills somehow.

    No it doesn't!

Holland played for Mick McCarthy in the Rep of Ireland world cup team and George Burley so it points to all 3! <ok>

So he has a good insight into all three-it makes sense to pick his brain.

    Edit.Too much sense for Clegg!!

Not sure what would have put Matt off more, sitting next to clegg or watching that inept display......Hmm it's a tough one but I would put my money on clegg...!

If McCarthy does get the job you know his assistant is going to be the world class Terry Connor.<laugh>

Nothing wrong with Terry Connor as a coach / assistant manager. It was only when he became manager that he failed.
I for 1 would welcome McCarthy & Connor

If you appoint McCarthy, who will you appoint in 18 months time?

careful of those stones you are throwing carra......by my reckoning over the past ten years you have gone through some managers yourselves.....but you do get a win out of it 6 v 5......

The point I was making was, if you appoint him, its not a long term solution. Its just another Paul Jewell appointment.

**** me Carra I agree with you! Shock!

I would prefer Coyle, Holloway, Burley, Shearer. Someone who would have ambition to make a go of things in the Premier League. I think if you just get someone who wants to survive, first of all I doubt we will, and second we are no further forward next season.

I do agree, however I wouldn't fancy Shearer as our gaffer. Doesn't have enough know how and wouldn't command that much respect from the players (particularly if we have a run of bad results) The other 3 I would have in a heartbeat.

I wouldn't want Shearer as manager either if I was you guys. I am surprised that people do, as he put in a shocker at Newcastle and that was the club that meant the most to him.
