Does anyone know if we're getting a new kit for the Prem? I tweeted McNally but not heard anything back.

Certainly. The last time we (or any team from the top few leagues for that matter) had the same kit two seasons in a row must have been ages ago.

As I mentioned on another thread, the club are probably keeping it quiet so they can sell a lot of the retro bird 5h1t shirts form the early nineties which have just been re-issued. Also they will be wanting to sell the souvenier track tops from the play-off final.

I know it won't happen but I wouldn't mind if we went completely retro for our new kit.
I particularly like the 1920-21 strip (yellow and green striped shirts, white shorts with black and green socks) and I'd plump for the 1926-27 home kit for use as the new away kit.

I've thought for ages that would make a great away kit.

Supposedly this years was based on the 1913/14 season as a nod to players who went of to fight in WW1. Can kind of see it but I think it could have been done better.

Yeah we are getting a new kit. I emailed the club shop asking a short while ago. No release date has been set yet though

Really!? I think they've been fantastic. some if the best designs going. We're one of their most high profile clients and so clearly get there attention when designing new kits. If we had one of the bigger manufactures we would get whatever generic design they had going that year but in yellow with green trim.

Remember the year that the west brom and Sunderland kits were identical (colour aside, obviously) they just become completely anonymous. The next year it became wigans away kit I believe.

Yeah I guess all of that is true. Apparently I have some sort of brand bias against Errea which has blinded me to this.

you have no real need to love the brand I suppose. The argument for the big manufactures is that is Nike for example makes it, you can buy a Norwich shirt in pretty much any country in the world and every sport direct in the country.

Also although I've never had any complains there have been questions around the quality of manufacturing. That said I'm not sure it's every very high with football shirts.

I'm a big Errea fan, as opposed to being one ot the 'herd' who have either Nike or Adidas kits!!!!

The errea era (say that 5 times quickly) has also been pretty successful for us. Which helps.

Surprised how infrequently the canary appeared on the shirts before WWll. Only became standard from '47. Even had the canary facing the other way in the '23 - '26 version.

Isn't there a restriction stating shirts can only be changed every 2 years, hence they alternate between home/away shirt renewal? Or did I just make that up?

I don't think there's any restrictions on changing kits is there? That said, perhaps that's something the Premier League could introduce to give the fans pockets a break, the TV money dwarfs merchandise income you'd think.

You're right, that used to be the case, but I'd almost put a sizeable bet on the fact that there will be a new home and away kit announce within 4 weeks. I think you'll find that both shirts were changed last year, so more money for the fans to stump up!!!

You do realise you don't have to buy the shirt, don't you? So don't need to be out of pocket!

I'm hoping the new shirt will be yellow with some green trim here and there.
