Steve Mildenhall joins Rovers Rovers have made a third signing ahead of tomorrowâs game against Plymouth Argyle at the Memorial Stadium (kick off 1.00pm) Experienced goalkeeper Steve Mildenhall has joined us on an emergency loan initially, and will hopefully sign a deal to keep him here until the end of the season early in the New Year. Chairman Nick Higgs said of the latest signing: âIâm bery pleased that we have signed an experienced goalkeeper and look forward to Steve playing for us for the remainder of the season.â Manager John Ward also welcomed the experienced shot stopper to the club and said; âWe are delighted to have a goalkeeper with Steveâs experience on board. His arrival is not, in any way, a reflection on Sam Walker, who did very well for me at Aldershot on Wednesday. âHowever, given our current league position, I felt that we needed some experience in that position. I know Steve and I am grateful to his manager at Millwall, Kenny Jackett, for allowing him to join us.â Steve started his career at Swindon and has since played for Gloucester, Salisbury, Notts County, Oldham Athletic, Grimsby Town, Yeovil Town, Southend United, Millwall and Scunthorpe United. He has made a total of 336 league appearances in his career.
Pleased with this. Considering we're at the bottom of the bottom division this is a good signing....he did well at Yeovil.
Thats not a bad transfer. He has been inconsistent at previous clubs but experience to sort the defense out can only help
