Paolo Di Canio faces a fight to hold on to Mignolet in the face of interest from Anfield and the club are actively looking at a number of potential replacements. Top of their list of Swedish international Nordfeldt, who plays for Dutch side Heerenveen. The 24-year-old has just one year remaining on his contract and has a release clause of £2million, meaning he is well within Sunderland's budget. Heerenveen boss Marco van Basten is desperate to keep Nordfeldt and the club have offered him a new contract, but the goalkeeper is waiting to see if Sunderland firm up their interest before deciding on his future. And his preference would be to move to the Premier League rather than extending his stay in Holland Read more: http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...er-replace-liverpool-bound-mign#ixzz2XDu05iPl Follow us: @talksport on Twitter Read more at http://www.talksport.co.uk/sports-n...lace-liverpool-bound-mign#GtFTOLzgebQTK4ev.99
Never heard of him, but then again never heard of Mignolet before he signed for us. Seems to fit the PDC profile...young, international, cheap, and wants to play in the premier league
Can't see him being a replacement, yet. Westie is likely to be no.1, but we need good back up. Hope he's up to the job
yes hes very good, one of the best, no silly mistakes like Mig and controls the box on corners unlike Mig. and does not keep punting it out but prefers to play it out.....unlike Mig....not a bad shot stopper either....oh and cheaper but just as good
Decent line stopper but overall a very average goalie. Bad technique, can't play football the Dutch way because of it(which incorporates the keeper heavily) and has been somewhat of a reliability for the team. Decent reflexes and agility give him some potential but his decision making is piss poor and he is flappy in corners or crosses, always punches the ball away. He had a decent 2012-2013 season but I'd still rate him as one of the less talented goalies in the Eredivisie. Esteban, Vermeer, Pasveer, Zoet, Mulder, Mikhaylov and De Ridder are all way better options in the league.
You've just described Westwood lol I can't wait for the season to now start as I've had to wait 12 months for my favourite keeper to play.
