Get West London "" QPR lose three to injury - and nearly a fourth 1 Mar 2014 15:36 Midfield gets a battering in training to decimate the ranks QPR were hit before the 1-1 draw to Leeds when they lost a trio of players in the same Friday training session. Gary O'Neil (thigh), Benoit Assou-Ekotto (abductor muscle) and a reoccurence of a hamstring strain for Niko Kranjcar had hearts racing in the Hoops training camp. There was a fourth scare when Armand Traore took a tweak, but survived to go close for Rangers early in the second half against United. Assistant manager Kevin Bond is keeping fingers crossed the unwelcome hat-trick are not long-term problems. He said: "We didn't look much beyond this game at the time, and we're going to have to assess them all later." Traore was one-on-one with Jack Butland that would have put Rangers in front, but only succeeded in drawing a save by the Leeds keeper with his legs. Bond added: "We needed to take that â it was a key moment. But in a tight game the result was fair. Having seen the Leeds penalty (saved by Rob Green) again, I agree it was a penalty, but at the time we were calling the referee all sorts." ""
I swear we must not do warm ups or warm downs, virtually all our injuries are muscle related which means they are doing something seriously wrong, hardly surprising when even the management team are oaps with ideas from the 70s.
He's carrying top weight, must be a strain. He's got more chins than a Chinese telephone directory...
Matters little how much Krancjar can move his Ãsje he can create more standing on one leg than the rest of our current midfield can do running round in circle's for a decade.
Depends on if he's done hammies on both legs or just one mate I seen us a lot on the box this season and every time he has been the one central to all our best attacking movements. Without him, as in the last 2 games, we have created very few shots on goal.
Well I've been there more often than not and I think he's been bloody awful in the vast majority of games.
Well I think he has. He isn't Adel, but other than Barton occasional creative contributions he is the only player we have had this season who in anyway directs attacking play from our central midfield. By far our worst performances this season have been when he and the only aggression/running( Barton )we have in our squad haven't played.
This is either an early April fool's joke or a poor cover story. BAE, Kranky and O'Neill all pick up mysterious injuries at the same time. Really? Just as many have been calling for precisely those three to be dropped? Are we soon going to be told that they've all been carrying knocks for several months now to excuse their play in the last couple of months. Wouldn't it just be easier to admit that they've been rested to recharge their batteries, regain their Mojos and in fatty's case go on a diet.
Those of us here on this forum that a qualified gym and fitness instructors ( i can think of 3 off the top of my head) are laughing our boll**ks off right now at this rubbish. Stop talking sh**e nd just comment on what you know about or an see....... For our amusement, what exactly is the point of a "warm down"?..Please include the term "blood pooling" in your answer ...thanks.. Sits back and waits....
Recharge their batteries? Oneill never player, BAE always plays in battery conservation mode and Kranky is in danger over overcharging judging by his waistline!
I agree with Oslo here. I recon that he's sometimes been our only player who's looked like doing anything. I really feel that a midfield of him and Henry is the way forward. Henry is actually excellent off the ball and a lot of people overlook this. We had a much better grasp over the midfield as a result on Saturday. With an attacking player in the centre you also need a defensive one. We have O'Neill and Henry to play defensive and Barton or Krancjar to push forward. Therefore, we should use wingers in every game and 2 strikers. Yet we should find a more diverse system than a standard 4-4-2. Maybe a 4-1-3-1-1. Maybe Krancjar can play behind the striker and have Barton as the second central midfielder.
Krancjar suffers more than most from the pitch-wide closing down that every team that comes to LR now does (because they see how vulnerable we are to it). But unlike the rest of our midfield he does at least still try to pick out a progressive ball rather than the sideways-backwards-sideways method we see so much of. Yes, he has been pretty dreadful but at least you think that he might just conjure up a chance while he is still on the pitch.
I'm sorry, but those that are saying that Kranjcar has played well must have been watching different games to me. He's been truly dreadful and every bit as much of a disappointment as Samba was. Perhaps if he could be arsed to get himself fit, he may stand a chance of playing anything like the way some on here are describing!
Overall contribution is lacking, a player of less ability but greater fitness may produce more. Then again he may not.
Krancjar may have been a disappointment but I fail to see how a cub like ours could expect to have attracted anyone better than a chubby bloke desperate to get out of his current club, who has a nice touch on the ball. What's out of kilter is our expectation of these players and this management team, and I hold my hands up here, me too, I'm guilty of it. Let's face it, with a couple of exceptions the lot of them are past their sell by dates, our manager lives on past (grossly overinflated) achievements, and is a knackered, flyblown version of his half decent years. The only thing we have that is top class is our wages. Still think we'll be promoted though. 42 points on the table.
Jean char hasn't lit any fires but at times he has clearly looked the best player on the pitch IMO Injuries happen any team would get disrupted Old cortinas break down We can't change that and have by far the best squad in the league I cannot knock our approach play I simply can't nor the players We lack goals no point IMO to pick the squad apart Time to push together until the end only then can we truly assess how bad Willing to think a few who slagged Cisse off would have him tomorrow if we could
