If Speakman was gone and KLD was running the show, surely they’d announce it? They know most people have lost patience with Speakman.
I think it’s the stuff of fantasy to think KLD has fallen out with Speakman, we already have a new DOF without announcing either, that Kyril is pissed off with last season and is suddenly going to completely alter course and start spending money.
Absolutely nothing during his tenure suggests he’s going to splash the cash and Speakman has too much control.

I’ve just been reading from afar during the off-season so my post was probably referring to 4 or 5 different recent posts.
My general point was that I think it would be too good to be true for us to have replaced Speakman, already found some good players including a striker along with KLD being ready to start splashing the cash.
Would be brilliant if true.

I think there’s a middle ground between what we’ve done so far under his tenure and just splurging money.

... I've seen all these posts about 'flex' etc so many times it's just become tedious.
No offence but these vagaries you're posting just don't make any sense and are just repeating what's been posted 1000 times before. But, in the interest of fairness, how much do you believe we should we be spending?
Are we supposed to have already sacked off Speakman? If that was the case I think it'd have broken by now, people working around the club would know and why would we keep it a secret.

We've reached the stage whereby I suspect people are contradicting other people's guesswork with more guesswork ...

You’re right, I can’t put an exact number on because none of us have access to the accounts.
However I would prefer us to go out and sign players who are ready immediately and fill specific squad gaps, rather than just accumulate prospects in the hope they come good. It’s been said by many people that the reason we haven’t been able to get those specific players is because they’re too expensive.
So, you’re right, it’s easy to say “just spend more money” but I think the money could definitely have been spent more wisely.
100% agree. This is spot on. I’m not buying this whole we can’t spend it it’ll put the club into debt etc. if we want to compete and get promoted you simply have to sign players who are ready to make an impact instantly. We’ve got a squad full of projects we don’t need anymore
