Hope so, I'm sick of banging the chill out and wait for the announcement drumI have a feeling things will calm down today.
I think people have blown themselves out and will now wait for an appointment before passing much more judgement.
The thing is, we don't know that's the case. It's well documented that the club runs a certain way so people in the game will know that. We've, allegedly, interviewed plenty of candidates. If it's directly affecting the quality of candidates we can attract, then surely the model has to adapt. Hamstringing the coach to the point where we can't get anyone who might achieve our stated ambition to take it on is crackers.
Otherwise we might as well have chucked it at Robinson or Challinor in February.
Wonder if the club have considered Ruben Selles at all. Bit of a footy nerd, great job at Reading this season keeping them up while dealing with transfer embargoes, points deductions and players not being paid. Forced to use a lot of young players and played positive football. Wouldn't turn my nose up at him.
This is from otr and what Carlton Palmer has allegedly said (no idea where, is he on Talksport?).
Strong words from Carlton Palmer
“From what is coming out of the football club, is that you’re not allowed to bring into your coaching staff, you’re allowed to bring in one person and then you’ve got to work within the realms of how they want to run the football club.
“This is their choice, their policy, of bringing in young players in, not really signing senior players and the control that’s taken away from the manager.
“As I’ve said, it’s going to be a very, very difficult appointment because any manager that is worth his salt, unless you’re really desperate to get back into work, you’re only set up to fail under the regime that Sunderland have set up.
“This is disappointing for the supporters, disappointing so close to the season. You’d obviously want to have a manager in place to start getting to work in the transfer market for the upcoming season.

He weirdly would suit us I thinkA few of my mates really want Lampard. I’m not so sure myself…
Yeah feel pretty much the same. Did what was expected at Derby, nothing special. Good first year at Chelsea when under embargo and then poor at Everton but the club was an absolute mess behind the scenes. I'd take him over the likes of Heckingbottom but he wouldn't really excite me either.A few of my mates really want Lampard. I’m not so sure myself…

Yep, he’s used to working under restrictions…He weirdly would suit us I think
'CAN WE NOT KNOCK IT?'HIT LES OVER THE TOP!
still my favourite ever documentary.
Lampard is would be less inspiring for me than a Challinor for example. Just don't think he's very good at all.
