Brucey is ‘dusting himself doon’ for a last dance as we speak.
Doubt we'll get him - he's got eyes on the Leicester job!

He's started so he'll finish! Not heard from Magnus for a while, dunno whether that's a good sign or bad!

He must be desperate for work...think he did 4 hours on talksport yesterday morning.Must be back on his medsNot heard from Magnus for a while, dunno whether that's a good sign or bad!
I'm just usure given the timeline. We've offered him a deal which he accepted then reneged. We've supposedly gone "all in" with our best offer last weekend and here we are on Weds with seemingly no progress. Now there will be stuff behind the scenes that none of us are privy to, but it's starting to drag on and on and we are in danger of behind left behind again.
The Sporting Director has spoken in the past about succession planning and how he/the club always has a working list of Head Coaches to pick from should the need arise, yet here we are 5 weeks on from the end of the season and still rudderless. It was the same when Mowbray was sacked, and the same when Johnson was sacked. In fact the only time we've appeared to have a succession plan was when Neil left and we appointed Mowbray, but the more I think about it the more I wonder if they just lucked out by the fact he was a) available, b) interested and c) in the stadium the day Neil left. Speakman covers himself in the glory of appointing Alex Neil, but when you watch STID it transpires it was Neil who contacted the club whilst we publicly flirted with Roy Keane.
I'm not in panic mode, nor do I subscribe to the risible and frankly boring narrative of "107 days without a Head Coach blah blah blah" but it's time for action. Time to ****, or get off the pot.
We've had 2 or 3 opportunities to do that and haven't. Why do you suddenly think that will happen now, or are you just deliberately trying to be negative?I still think we'll promote Murty.
Speakman has done a lot of good work, but he lets himself down every time he opens his mouth:This is the thing that taints Speakman for me. I get what he’s trying to do with bringing in promising young players and I prefer that to paying over the odds for journeymen on one last payday. This will not always be successful and I am prepared to accept that for now.
However, when Mowbray was sacked, there appeared to be no plan with how he was to be replaced. There should have been a replacement head coach ready to walk through the door, as that’s what Speakman has alluded to with his succession planning. It didn’t happen then and it appears it isn’t happening again.
If there isn’t a plan in place that can be acted on swiftly and successfully, Speakman should learn to keep his gob shut. I don’t hold out much hope that he can do that either
iirc his head was aparrently turned on the Sunday/Monday and we didn't hear until the Thursday/Friday from the media so even if he does make a decision doubt we'd hear for three or four days and then an announcement probably another 1 or 2 after thatIf he made his final decision on Sunday, it's still plausible as to why we've not heard anything here. Nobody is going to be leaking it.
If he's accepted, they may well have needed to dot the I's and cross the t's on the contracts (multiple). They may have also needed him to come over to film interviews etc which might not have even happened yet. You'd think that that would mean news comes out in the next 48 hours though...
If he's rejected, we may have moved on to the next person. At which you'd expect the news to not break until much later in the week.
For some reason though, people seem to assume that he's still making his mind up. That feels unlikely considering.
AgreedMaybe cutting off my nose to spite my face and all that but IF he is just waiting to see if the frogs offer him the job, I'd be inclined to say **** you and cut him loose.
The best coaching session he had seen under Beale was a good oneSpeakman has done a lot of good work, but he lets himself down every time he opens his mouth:
- We have a succession plan
- Leon Dajaku was always planned to be the 3rd striker
- We're not the sort of club that is aligned to a traditional no.9
- Obsession with progression
Just shut up and do your job.
Seemingly managers/head coaches rated Beale as a coach. He’s just not a head coach and never will be.The best coaching session he had seen under Beale was a good one
