No. The club have been in contact with William Still for a number of months but both parties have kept options open during this period. It has never been as close as people have made out with talks of imminent appointments which is completely untrue. Parties have negotiated but are not getting through significant hurdles.

Not just any scout, ‘the’ scout. Interesting as I thought that would have been some of the very early discussion points. I’m not tied to Still, sounds canny but I know very little about him. I just want a gaffer in place ASAP to have a good crack at pre-season, so we have a chance at pushing on next season.

your perspective who has been negotiating this coach recruitment?

Not under a DoF/Head Coach system. Most will know that they might be able to suggest players but won't be leading the recruitment.
