Aye unlike Amad who early doors I thought had potential I pretty quickly wrote Burstow off, but only for us, not in general. It seemed clear he'd do nothing for us but his career so far suggested there's a player in there and for whatever reason his time with us just didn't work out.

I think its true to say that Burstow did nothing here to show us why we had brought him in, all four strikers have struggled tbh. Barstow got his big chance and never looked the part at all , in fact he looked a bit like Jobe in more ways than one to me.

I'm less sold on Svensson, simply due to an irrational dislike for a back 5. That's not based on anything concrete, it just makes me feel weird (I won't be calling him an ugly Danish twat with a weird accent if we do get him though- just thought I'd clarify that).

I agree with the part about Carsley, and it still surprises me that he isn't frequently linked with us in the mainstream. Didn't his and Speakman's spells at Birmingham also overlap once over? Maybe there's an issue there, come to think of it.

That's a good point, I hadn't put 2 and 2 together there.

Likely European football and a bigger pay packet backed up by very low tax rates at Besiktas. If that’s the case, I’d be very surprised if he opted to come here.

Amad was hopeless for rangers a few months earlier. Funny game football
