I don't know that its negligence. He has brought strikers in, but I doubt they were at the top of his list. When Stewart was still here, people may have thought they'd end up as second choice.I’d agree with that if we were talking about one transfer window. Not bringing in a striker during 3/4 transfer windows is negligent. He should have found a way, it’s his job.
Sorry if already postedMost of what I can glean about Still is that he’s a really good motivator (which is obviously hugely important), does anyone know though how good of a technical and tactical coach he is?
The thing that stood out about watching Ipswich this season, and I saw the same thing on Saturday in Sheff Weds, is just how well drilled they all are in such a myriad of different situations and in their patterns of play. Different level from what you see in most of the rest of the league and a clear competitive advantage (elevating the playing talent at their disposal and making the whole so much more than the sum of their parts). I didn’t see the same when I’ve watched Reims but having looked into it, the games I’ve seen seem to be generally acknowledged to have been their worse of the season.
Maric is clearly a proper, obsessive student of the game in the same way McKenna is, is Still the same?
Obviously it remains to be seen if Maric can translate that knowledge onto the pitch when he’s the main man.
Look how the seasons played out from pre play offs last season to now and his decision making. Longer term fair enough, wider club fair enough. First team this year ? DisasterYou’re of course entitled to your opinion so this isn’t meant to sound arsey but 2/10 seems a ridiculously harsh score to me. You compare the club now compared to the day he came in and it’s practically unrecognisable-in a good way. With a few enjoyable times along the way too.
I still think a good head coach makes all seem better too (recruitment, current squad quality etc), his biggest failing, and it is a huge one, was the Beale appointment.
Disaster is too strong a word for me. Unbalanced? Yes. Not good enough to go up? Definitely.Look how the seasons played out from pre play offs last season to now and his decision making. Longer term fair enough, wider club fair enough. First team this year ? Disaster
Aye but the mess started with Speakmans relationship with Mowbray and trusting Burstow.Disaster is too strong a word for me. Unbalanced? Yes. Not good enough to go up? Definitely.
I think results, if not performances, would have been better without so much disruption in the Head Coach position. A large part of that is Beale being undermined by the people who should have supported him. He probably shouldn't have got the role in the first place, but after he did, he should have got better backing. It was obvious the pressure was affecting him.
He loves a vague statement Nixon mindNixon has said he suspects we are getting closer to an appointment, then went there’s another foreigner in the frame who has not been mentioned, so which one is it?
Getting irritating this now haha
We were only 4 points off the playoffs even when Beale went. Say, in some alternative universe, we’d brought Rohl in when we got rid of Mowbray, I believe there’s every chance we’d be looking forward to another match on Sunday.Look how the seasons played out from pre play offs last season to now and his decision making. Definitely. Should have replaced Mowbray when they originally wanted to. As much as I would have been happy to keep him, the club didn't really want him so should have acted last summer.Aye but the mess started with Speakmans relationship with Mowbray and trusting Burstow.
Agreed, and who was it that was so weak and didn't make the call?Definitely. Should have replaced Mowbray when they originally wanted to. As much as I would have been happy to keep him, the club didn't really want him so should have acted last summer.

Conning a living.
Getting closer to an appointment?
Well it's not like we're getting ****ing further away is it.
Thanks, that’s good, I always enjoy these. Backs up well what else I’ve seen of him in that he’s quite pragmatic in his approach. I do wonder how he’d do with an expectation of being more on the front foot and breaking down a passive low block. I don’t know how much he faced that with Reims.Sorry if already posted

I'm not sure. Could be Speakman but I wouldn't have thought that he'd be allowed to act unilaterally on the Head Coach.Agreed, and who was it that was so weak and didn't make the call?
