I like to think that Speakman signed his own P45 by employing and sacking Beale. What an absolute appalling period in this proud football club since January. I'm giving KLD the benefit of the doubt, but hard decisions need to be made right now
Thank ****.He is going before he is pushed.
I bow to your superior knowledge of course, so are you saying our failure to sign the right players and make errors on people like Burstow are all on Speakman ? There must be others. We need to have a deep dive and get it functioning again.Chief scouts will still fly all over the world tho, theyll even meet players n agents - big part of their roles but they could rave about a player saying they are the best theyve ever seen n the TD or SD could go against them
My club signed a player solely based on the TD n SD liking them despite the chief scouts n orher scouts saying he wasnt good enough
The retained list is literally just who is still under contract. We already know who is on it.The retained list will be interesting. We need to be ruthless. Anyone deemed not good enough to get us into the top six or not thought likely to improve enough to become a top six player should be out of the door or up for sale.
Next season is the 4th of KLD's 5 year plan. It's a vital one. Anything less than top six should be regarded as a failure.
I'm really looking forward to the close season, which will be a really busy one. New proper Head Coach and a new coaching team, New Director of Football, more experienced and greater quality players coming in, mediocre players going out along with those interesting Premier League clubs. Bring it on!
Pretty much, speakman will be the one to sign off the signings - obviously it is different at every club but just sharing how it works at the club i work forI bow to your superior knowledge of course, so are you saying our failure to sign the right players and make errors on people like Burstow are all on Speakman ? Dodds should have been sacked immediately after his presser for some of his comments. He knows he is toast I guess..I reckon that is a leaving speech.
I said when he was given the long gig it was a world of difference being a head coach of a squad, as to a coach for individual development. If I were him I would want to go back to that development role. It may not have the glamour, but boy is it rewarding and should be valued highly in the game.
In my opinion it is best he goes. He may be proud of what he has done, and I have no doubts half of what goes on day to day he deals with is not known by any supporter. It is a brutal job, worst and best on any club. But the bare reality is he hasnt been up to it. He hasnt the gravitas on the touchline, he seems tactically neaive to me, particularly when it comes to the possession side of the game. I also think he has roughed the players up in has last few press conferences. I dont have an issue with that, they arent good enough as a squad, and some have been well below form. But you dont so that expecting to walk back in for pre season. Also, to be perfectly honest, he has shown much much less than Beale did as a coach so I think a clean sweep all round is needed. Good luck to him, but shame he wasnt left in the role he was brought in to do, as in that role he was elite level.
I think the club may release a communication later this afternoon...the performances and management of the team and club has been unacceptable from top to bottom.
It's been awfully quite ,I too would have expected a pre prepared press release stating Dodds ,Proctor , Speakman and Harvey all gone with immediate effect.I think the club may release a communication later this afternoon...the performances and management of the team and club has been unacceptable from top to bottom.

It's not often I'm critical of the club, yes the odd complaint now and then, but there's been some silly things went ok this season, 3 mangers/Coach's, black Cats bar tripe and the overall wet fart of a season. No one was demanding promotion, but dear me the wheels fell off.
Well, you maybe right but there's also a way to let the supporters know that this season's S bit S how, across everything to do with the Club is not acceptable and is being addressed and quickly. There's no sentiment in business and football is a business.I think that’s wishful thinking rather than realistic.
And no matter what we think of all of them, I think they deserve better than a single press release saying all have left.
all should go, of course. But there’s a decent way of doing things.

I would have thought they will all get told on Monday. Thanked for their efforts etc.I think that’s wishful thinking rather than realistic.

We don't need a miracle, just a good manager, if we replaced TM with a good manager we would have had a lot better season. The squad needs improvement but is better than where we finishedneed to mate 22 losses we need a miracle next season
Speakman I would probably agree with, to an extent, but we don't know what constraints he was operating under.
As for Dodds and Procter both were asked to do a job that they clearly weren't up to, that's not their fault. I'd be quite happy to see them back in their previous jobs at the academy as they were highly rated at that.
We need to concentrate on getting the right head coach and if appropriate director of football.

Seen some on here asking for Harvey out too. Not sure I agree, but only based on me not knowing how far a scouts role actually reaches. Is he just following instructions, young with potential, or has he failed in other areas?
@Scout73 You are probably best placed. Harvey, success, failure, or somewhere in between?
