Like I keep saying I don't disagree but the buying of younger players was essential over the last 2 to 3 years to enable the club to develop as it had been decimated by the previous regime. Buying too many older players at that time would have been a mistake as we have had to rebuild a solid base from which to work. That was not here previously and it has meant we have had to develop young players in the first team effectively using an under 23 squad as the first team.We signed 3 squad players in January, that haven’t improved us, we signed 9 or 10 in the summer that haven’t improved us. We will never know the true cost of both windows but in my opinion we should have put all that money into 3-4 experienced championship players and retained Pritchard. We would be in a far better place now, we had a great season last year and it just needed some investment in quality and experience, hopefully lessons have been learnt for this summer
The problem is quick fixes do not generally work long term.not sure waiting for till the end of the season is the way to go... We need someone in quick, the players look lost...these are not bad players, but the life is being sucked out of them. As I see it, we are setting ourselves up to fail next season with players with no confidence and the better ones being sold.
I wonder if the international break might be when they bring someone in. Limp to the break and bring in the man they want permanently or someone to the end of the season.
They are on life support and while relegation looks unlikely it’s also difficult to see where the next win is coming from.
I think KLD would if he thought there was any chance of relegation. That would be a catastrophe for the club and his own personal investment.I cant see KLD or KS going back on what they have done, Dodds for the rest of the season.

Sartori maybe so but KLD not so in terms of selling. KLD 100% still fully invested.
The only worry is we don't employ someone until say mid to late summer. The problem is quick fixes do not generally work long term.
If the club had gone through with appointing Farioli and getting rid of TM at that time their would have been uproar but the truth is in the long run it may well have been a wise decision.
The manager we want may not be available until the end of the season (possibly Still), or he may be taking time off to spend with family (Cooper), or any number of other coaches for any number of different reasons.
I would rather wait for the right man than pick somebody to fill a gap.
I wasn’t either but I am now.Let's see. I am not convinced at all.
I didn't see this mate I assumed the original was from someone connected to wms. Things like this will become fact and it will give some fans more of a reason to be against everything!
If I genuinely hated everything about the club all the time I'd get a new interest!

I cant see KLD or KS going back on what they have done, Dodds for the rest of the season.
Few things recently. Still at the club a lot recently.what changed your mind?
But it's not hatred towards the club name or the fans it's aimed directly at the top table for all the **** they have created themselves. They're a disgrace and there's a few on here who don't seem to like the owner, sporting director, coaches, half the players and most of the stadium staff.
Dodds is a spy, Speakman is an arrogant fool, KLD is a conman, etc etc etc.
Heaven help us if the club is sold, everyone replaced and they feel the same about the new people ...
... we'll have to live through this relentless hatred all over again![]()
In another article, Graeme Atkinson states a typical promotion side has an average age between 25.6 years and 27.6 years.
Dodds fielded a team with an average age of 20.8 years against Southampton, given recent recruitment and the injury situation I doubt that figure will shoot up the next few games.
I guess it comes down to perception. Are the owners implementing a groundbreaking approach to player development that's never been tested, or are changes necessary. It would be exciting to find out if it was any other team![]()
