As confirmed by @alwaysright we have ourselves our new Head Coach. Former Birmngham, Leicester & Spurs midfielder and son of former England goalkeeper Stephen Clemence.

    https://www.gillinghamfootballclub.com/news/2023/november/stephen-clemence-named-new-head-coach/

Clemence has been actively coaching over the last 13 years and has followed Steve Bruce around a fair deal. Within that time he has coached at Sunderland, Hull City, Aston Villa, Newcastle United, Sheffield Wednesday & West Bromwich Albion, doing various roles from Reserve/U23s manager to First team coach, and then more recently as Assistant Manager to Bruce. Over the summer, he spent some time coaching the Manchester City academy teams and was interviewed by Sky Sports about what his future holds which can be watched here:

Its an exciting time for the Gills after what was a rather dreadful October for the club. He comes with brilliant credentials from a coaching point of view and with recruitment fully the responsibility of Kenny Jackett & Andy Hessenthaler moving forwards, he will be able to fully focus on team matters. He will be assisted by former Middlesbrough defender and recent Rochdale manager Robbie Stockdale.

Welcome to the club Stephen, we hope your time in Medway is successful. Let the new era Clemence!

Good news now we can move forward again, I just hope our fans give him time before they start beating the ole out drum again. I remember his dad fondly from his days at Liverpool, Spurs and for England. Not forgetting that Stephen himself worked under Steve Bruce, a past Gillingham great. I wish him all the best of luck, he's going to need it with our lot. Same target as I set Neil, minimum of play-off place is not an unreasonable ask at this stage of the season and well before the next transfer window.
