It seems that Tony Parks is the new goalkeeping coach at City http://www.canaries.co.uk/news/article/20140714-tony-parks-1756413.aspx I was at WHL in 1984 for that night against Anderlecht
Good choice. Pochettino is bringing his own keeper coach (Jiminez) to Spurs so it's a natural move for Parks. Good experience with Spurs and at the FA.
It's an amusing musical chairs triangle really. Jiminez follows Pochettino to Spurs, Watson replaces Jiminez at Saints and Parks replaces Watson here.
Just read this on the FA site: "Parks worked for The FA as a National Coach for six years, when he played a key role on the coaching staff of England’s development squads at U16, U17, U19 and Under-21s level working with the likes of Joe Hart, Ben Amos and Jason Steele. He was named as the goalkeeper coach of the year in 2013 at The FA Licensed Coaches’ Club Award following his work under both Harry Redknapp and Andre Villas-Boas at Spurs since 2008, where he has worked with Hugo Lloris, Brad Friedel, Heurelho Gomes and Carlo Cudicini." http://www.thefa.com/news/my-football/coaches/2014/jul/tony-parks-joins-norwich-city-140714?
Can't help thinking Dave Watson leaving was a positive for us. Parks looks like a cracking signing. Wasn't convinced with Adams becoming manager, but can't see that he's done much wrong. I'm getting slightly more positive about next season.
Encouraging appointment, was a good keeper in his day, bit surprised we could tempt him, being a Championship side now. Hopefully that´s a good sign of things to come.
Norwich has a decent history of Goal Keepers and currently has (In my opinion) the second best English GK, which might have swayed him to come.
Yeah, I think if Watson was staying Ruddy would have wanted to go. Dunno what happened there but obviously Ruddy thinks there's something not right with training under Watson and then not making the England squad.
